Can someone tell me the difference in a 2021 Touring L, Touring L Plus and a Limited?

I am in the market for a 2021 Pacifica and I want a Limited but there is nothing near me that I am satisfied with. I am thinking of degrading but I want to know everything I would be losing if I did.

I cannot tell you the difference in those model levels you seek info on... but I will caution you on a somewhat unrelated issue with the Pacifica. Not that a working phone or navigation/maps thru your phone is a MUST in your decision... but I would simply suggest, when you go for your test drives, whatever model you land on, BEFORE you buy, bring your own cell phone(s) you expect to use in the van. I am not an Apple guy... and to say I am (as well as countless others) are having a most difficult time getting a clear, acceptable answer as to why my Android phone will not trigger Android Auto to project the phone screen onto the UConnect screen as it is advertised it should, and the inability to use the full functionality of the talking/phone functions. I do not have unlimited funds to go purchasing the newest phone(s) or iPhone trap every year, when the Chrysler advertising states otherwise... Just bring your own phone, test it in a demo of the year & model you plan on purchasing - run it thru maps/navigation, try to MAKE a phone call via the steering wheel buttons. I didn't. I was told it would all work just fine. It is NOT, I cannot get a clear, acceptable answer or reason as to why... I would like to see you or others NOT go thru this same situation.

There are so many options differences it would be difficult to name them all. The biggest thing you lose by lower trims is resale value.
You can get a complete comparison on the Chrysler site by clicking Shopping Tools > Research > Compare Models.

As you aren't comparing two specific trims it's difficult to tell you 'what's changed', so you'll have to expand all the subsections on that page and compare yourself.

That's on your phone. Welcome to the Android world.

Regardless, it's not on Chrysler. Their system works to specification for Android phones. If your phone doesn't follow the specification, nobody can do anything about it.

This is why people do iPhone--they avoid the wild, wild west of anything goes for an Android phone, from the $60 ones to the $1500 ones. People expect the $60 ones to do everything, then are disappointed when they don't do a crucial function they'd like to do.

I agree that an online brochure or the Chrysler (build your own) website would be the best way to know the differences between models.

In general, the higher trims usually have more or different theater options, kick to open power doors, heated/vented seat options, and parking/camera options. Sometimes they have more sound insulation.

It depends on what you want/need in a van so only you can decide if a lower trim level would work for you.

If you move up to the Pinnacle, be advised that apparently 4x8 plywood doesn't fit since the newer console is larger. Chrysler hasn't updated their brochures to disclose that info.

Sometimes a dealer will do a "dealer trade" to get what you want.

You can search online to see how far away a van is that you might be interested in.

If you check the Chrysler.com website, it lets you compare trims. Even better download the brochure and it has a matrix.

Appreciate your response, Adam, but what I find unacceptable is for those of us non-techie's that don't know or understand what you do about this stuff is, we go by the advertising materials, the websites with footnotes, and the 125 page booklet in the van... that says, I need an Android phone, running Android OS 5.0 or above. The fact this worked in a 2020 Pac, and doesn't in a 2021... Complicate it even more, on a different Chrysler/UConnect site, there is only 1, ONE 'approved' or compatible LG phone with my carrier, one. And that phone appears to be no longer available. Not even iPhone is listed as compatible for this carrier... yet the few I tested work.

I'd play and abide by the rules, if the rules were clear, and transparent BEFORE purchase.

I do understand your frustration, but no manufacturer in the world can know how every Android phone in the world interacts with the infotainment. That's just the nature of the Android world. Some manufacturers take the time to document SOME phones that work or don't, but they can't keep doing that. There are too many, and even Samsung changes models yearly or more often. It would be a full time job for more than one person to validate even a small number of phones.

Could they do a better job of understanding it themselves in order better to document "your mileage may vary"? No doubt, and I'd say your situation screams "ABSOLUTELY!".

Things like this make people appreciate, and maybe even move to, the Apple world. It is more coherent and more easily understood by manufacturers like Chrysler.

The fact this worked in a 2020 Pac, and doesn't in a 2021...
Do understand that the 2021 UConnect 5 is a completely different hardware and software setup than previous models. Frankly, in the fractured mess that is the Android phone world, that alone should scream "beware, it's all new! Who knows what will happen!". But you just know that Chrysler's marketing department won't put THAT in writing.

And to your point so clearly stated: when you buy something like this van, make sure EVERYTHING works to your satisfaction and as advertised. It's a rolling computer, for God's sake. And it is what it is when you buy it. You can't expect it to change or be updated or be any different down the road; expect it NOT to change, and either be happy with what it is the day you buy it or else buy something else. You are spot on with that observation.

I'd play and abide by the rules, if the rules were clear, and transparent BEFORE purchase.
Call me jaded, but the rules are transparent (if not written out anywhere). The tech world has made it clear to me, from long ago, to understand just what you're experiencing. The tech world really doesn't care--just buy their stuff.

The one sitting in my driveway right now would say otherwise.

@brose013 If you want to know if a specific feature is included in the Touring-L Plus, ask away and I'll tell you if it is on my car. But from what I understand from the Chrysler website, the "Plus" mostly brings navigation, SiriusXM radio and the better center console that's still compatible with the floor mats currently on the market (as opposed to the one on Limited and Pinnacle trims that's completely new and larger than last year's).

The carrier has little to do with it, unless they installed a ton of crapware on your phone (in which case you should probably stay away from that carrier). The 2021 models support 2 modes for Android Auto, wired and wireless. Wireless needs a very recent version of Android (released 2020), or one of a pretty restricted list of Samsung phones. Wired should work with all phones that support the Android Auto app. In any case you can switch between Android Auto and "Uconnect Phone" which is just fancy Bluetooth that supports showing your contact list. Try clicking twice on the Android Auto tab at the bottom of the screen, it'll pop up a menu to switch between the two or open the device manager.

But yeah, the marketing material is very confusing as my wife's new phone actually works on wireless AA, despite not having that specific Android version nor being on the very small list of Samsung phones... But it is a Samsung phone, and more recent than the devices on the official list, so make of that what you will.

Canada vs US?
Canada vs US?
Could be!

EDIT: Also, funnily enough, if you want a Hybrid the Touring-L Plus is ~600$ cheaper than the Touring, according to the Chrysler website. And there's no Touring-L either.

The Gas version shows a more normal progression of Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus, Limited and Pinnacle.

And here in Québec, the Hybrid Touring-L Plus is only 550$ more than the Gas Touring-L, and ~1500$ cheaper than the Gas Touring-L Plus. Thanks, government incentives!

Down here, the Pinnacle with everything is the same price as the Limited with everything except the sunroof. So, at some level the Pinnacle gives free sunroof (well, plus caramel seats). Go figure.

Only if you live in Canada. There is no Touring L Plus in the US. The Touring L with one option box checked gets you the same thing sans the Plus in the name.

I think what you have to understand is that anything in the brochure, website , etc was written up way prior to conception . And the factory has the ability to change , withdraw or add specs during production . So anything that you’ve read about would be considered old news as things change daily during production . Your best bet is always test drive it and verify the one your liking at is compatible with what your needs are , hope this helps .
