Any other Canknuckleheads in here?

I was all lined up to test drive one of these, when my dealership told me that decided SUDDENLY on Saturday, May 13th, that they will NOT be selling the HYBRID model... Apparently this is Nation Wide up here.

Presently, my sales rep had no more info, and Google is failing me here. Does anyone know what may be happening here?3

Edit, to be clear, I was not told NEVER, but that a timeline was not presently available.

There has been some chatter on the Facebook group about there being a hold on releasing built Hybrids for some reason. No one seems to have any information as to why though. There have been a couple of instances on both these threads and on Facebook where there are some issues with battery charging, and one poor guy had his battery die on him and then he had some sort of transmission issue. Apparently, Chrysler engineers have been in contact with him about these issues.

I was just at Barrie Chrysler(Ontario) to look at the one hybrid they have in stock. We went to see it after dinner out and could not find it on the lot. I asked a salesman and he said that they had been told by chrysler, no test drives and no sales of it at this time, no reason given and no timeline given.

And then i drove away in my Volt lol.

I hope it gets sorted, cause my next vehicle will be this van, but i do have time so can wait for them to sort out what ever the possible issue is. Haven't heard bad things coming from the states and they have been driving them since Dec no?

Looks like two people in a very close time frame had a no charge no start issue. Possible problem for a run of vehicles built at factory? Thread is titled "7 days in, van won't start" My post count is too low to add thread link...

I can confirm there is a North America-wide delivery hold on the PacHy. I spoke with my dealer today about my order status and the sales manager was fielding calls the whole time from his bosses about the delivery hold. It seems to have caused some chaos. Mine was in transit, unloaded in Montreal two weeks ago, and has not shown up (hence why I went to see what was going on). He told me it was Ontario-wide for sure, he didn't know about other jurisdictions but people on my Facebook post have confirmed the same thing, one person was in SoCal.

The dealer had no information on why there is a hold nor did he know when it would be lifted. He said corporate even wants him to contact the customer who drove off with one last week to bring it back. I won't speculate as to why there is a sudden and unannounced hold but it's definitely a big deal. Chrysler is even reimbursing the dealer on any expenses as a result of the delay. Any customers making payments without actually having received their vehicles are also supposedly going to get money from FCA as well for those car payments.

I think the media should be involved in this. Something big is up and it probably isn't good.

I have a deposit on a hybrid in the GTA, dealership told me that my van has been produced at the Windsor plant and will be shipped over the next week or two. The dealership I have been working with has been great but FCA has not been the most transparent in regards to all the specs for the vehicle compared to other models, very little was known and available at the Toronto Auot Show, online and in brocheures relative to other new vehicles. There is info but not detailed technical info and no full spec sheets are available. I've never purchased or researched a vehicle where so little is disclosed and known. When I called today I was informed that their first hybrid arrived....I was very excited and wanted to check it out this evening but I was asked that I give them some time to inspect it before I come see it.

Part of me is so excited for this vehicle as the technology, design and efficiency all seems great....at the same time I have doubts and concerns about what is going on behind the scenes when I read these posts. If there is a delay lets hope they are being diligent and fixing a bug or minor issue rather than rushing out product that we will regret that we purchased. I'd rather have a this nice new ride then take back my deposit and consider a Toyota or Honda that seem to be far behind what Chrysler has done with the hybrid version of this vehicle. Keep the flow of info going. Thanks

Certainly sounds like some kind of flaw was found. Definitely glad it was found now, but man is the lack of info frustrating.

If I find out more, I will pass it along. I am sure I can count on you all to do the same.

The weird part is why remove it from the lot? Does that mean they are shipping them back or "holding" at dealers for some kind of fix? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

They really haven't even been in the states a month for the majority. We have 2 people maybe 3 in the FB group that have had theirs since December and either January or February. There are still December and January orders that haven't gotten their cars.

We own one and already have ~2,000 KM on it and I live in the Barrie area. This is concerning to me for sure. Going to be calling FCA and my dealer tomorrow to get to the bottom of this.

We drive around our three young ones in this daily so if there is a defect that is putting them at higher than normal risk I think I should be made aware of it.

We are up in Midland. Small world! Was the dealer in Orillia that gave me the heads up on all this. Our dealer, here in Midland, could not even get me info on how to find one to test drive it before all this.

We didn't enjoy the experience at the Barrie Chrysler nor the Innisfil Chrysler so we ended up buying from Newmarket. Was the best car buying experience of my life and the sales guy was awesome too, if you do end up getting a PacHy I would highly recommend dealing with him!

I have some acquaintances that are mechanics for Chrysler so I will see what they can muster up about this as well.

The salesman told me the van was at the back of the lot of i wanted to look at it through the windows(i wanted to see the interior colors). Is I found it and looked at it. It was still on the lot, just in the back with used vehicles and customers vehicles waiting for repairs.

Thanks!, I'll keep that in mind. Reason i checked there is i saw on their website they had one in stock, and Barrie is very close to Borden, so i went to see it with the wife. got her on board about the vehicle as she likes our volt. She is a little worried now.

I got my Volt in newmarket as well as i didn't get a warm fuzzy from a local dealer.

Wow! I'm glad I came back to check this thread... I'll be reaching out to my dealership tomorrow to see if I can find anything out too, as I hadn't heard of any of this... We brought our van home just over two weeks ago, and are just over 800km so far - I absolutely love it, but am a bit worried now. I definitely want to see if anything is going on that I should worry about before I switch out the centre console now!

I figured there was something fundamentally wrong.

Lack of information means they don't know what the problem is or if they do, they're not telling because they don't know how to fix it (or it's too expensive).

I hope they work out their problems - but I doubt this 2017 will be back.

I hope the Premier is on this - we've got a lot riding on it.

Guess I'll go ahead with the repairs on my old Sienna.

i picked up my pacifica hybrid last thursday in vancouver BC canada, been absolutely flawless since day one. Love the thing to death and 100% worth the wait. I visited my dealer today to picked up my all weather mats and even spoke to the locally trained technician, no words about a hold from them. The dealer even have a few more patchy on the way without hold. Lets wait for more news

Oh, ok. I jumped the gun and thought they might have shipped them back.

Just for anyone else who was thinking of putting on a clear bra, I got my charging port panel covered as well because I figure there will be a lot of wear opening and closing over time. They should do it for free.
