I just returned from a long road trip in my Hybrid Limited and I'm very impressed with the slew of features this van has. But the one thing that annoyed me is the speed limiter.

I was driving down a stretch where the speed limit was 75 and the van would not let me go faster than 80. Does anyone know I can adjust this limiter?

I'm using KeySense key.
Okay. The KeySense key is intended for teenage drivers, valets, your mother-in-law or anyone else you want to be able to put some restrictions on.

Normally you want to use one of the two standard keys, which don’t have those restrictions.
So keyless entry is for the kid? That seems backward. Thanks for the heads up.

All of the keys work with keyless entry. KeySense is not keyless entry.
Then I need to learn more. It seemed like comfort access on BMW which needs Comfort Access fobs. Thank you for pointing this out

No Keysense limits the vehicle speed and radio volume. I put mine away so I won't grab it by accident. The car drives BEAUTIFULLY at 85. On both our road trips since I got my car last month. :D

I haven't driven on Hwy 130 but spent 10 years driving from Ft Worth to Houston or San Antonio nearly every holiday weekend. The posted speed may only be 75 on I-35 and I-45, but if you don't drive 80+ then you aren't keeping up with the rest of the traffic and risk being run over.

The Keysense fob can limit some things. If you need to adjust it, check page 25 of the 2018 owner's manual or the multimedia section p. 592. If you use the online manual you may have to click on the magnifying glass to get the search feature since the index isn't always helpful. Page numbers may vary since there are several editions of the manuals. Information is in a similar place in the 2017 manual. (Not all trim levels have Keysense.)

Here is the link for the 2018 Owner's manual. It will download as a pdf, so don't be surprised if the screen is blank and it takes a little while. Just look at the bottom of the page for the pdf box to click. Even if you don't regularly use keysense, it would be good to know how to change things if needed.

Where in the US is the speed limit 85?
Haha, it's 75 but we were going 4 hours one way with long periods between cities for Thanksgiving and then 3 hours on the other trip each way. 2 lanes going one direction, separated highway. Corpus to Burnet/Hill Country and then Corpus to Boerne/Hill Country.
