So here is what happened with my Z11 recall:

Eight days and less than 126 miles (mostly electric) after z11 recall was completed (along with prepaid oil and tire service), we got the check engine light right by our home and immediately parked the car. OBD-II scanner pulled P0EDD Code, which my app indicated (and dealer confirmed) is the code for "Hybrid/EV Battery Pack 'B' Deterioration."

Drove to dealer (3.3 miles from where I parked it), and on the way the radio suddenly stopped and the display changed to the UConnect apps screen. All audio from car is now gone.

Dealership says it is the first time it has seen this code. Van has less than 30,000 miles.

Keep us up to speed on the result and get a PM going with Chrysler Cares to determine next steps.

What has the dealer said they would do?

Dealer said they had never encountered the code, so they needed to research next steps and see if it is covered under the recall or warranty. Dealer couldn't even guarantee rental car coverage at this point.

Called Chrysler Cares over the weekend, and essentially got the same response. (I.e., I would have to wait for the dealer technician to evaluate it before they could say anything about the issue.)

The speaker failure had not manifested until about half-way to the dealership, so Chrysler has not had a chance to address any potential connection between the two events. There was no bump in the road or anything. It just quit while I was driving about 35 mph on a smooth road. Turned the car off and back on before handing it over to the dealer, nothing changed.

Dealership is plugging away at the problem. Warranty coverage appears confirmed.
Wanted to see if you had any updates? Apparently in another forum, another owner had issues after the Z11 was done and they had another code for ntsc video input.

Chrysler Cares took all my info, but I have not heard anything else from Chrysler Cares.

The dealer was told to test various modules and the first recommended step I believe was to replace a component of the hybrid cooling system. I was told it might take around 5 days to get the parts. So I might not get any further update from the dealer until next week.

I've just had the exact same thing happen to me. Had the Z11 done, drove home, parked the van in Garage for 2 days. Drove it on day 3 and threw the P0EDD code day 4. I charge it every night on 120V.
It is worth noting I do not have the audio issue, however, i did have the radio software updated to latest version at the same time as the recall.

My dealer is pretty large here in Dallas and my advisor has about 24 years on the job. He also has never seen this code before. Guess I should buy a lotto ticket.

Won't know anything until after the weekend at least. Maybe the recall fixed some algorithms and now properly identify an issue present from before the recall? Hope we find out.

Dealer just called and told me I'm the winner of a new battery. Guess I will go and buy that lotto ticket now...
The question we will never know the answer to is: Did the new software update make something start working properly and detected a troubled battery - or was it all coincidence that it happened 4 days after the z11 was performed. My spidey senses tell me the former.

I believe the recall report filed with NHTSA indicates that the software update allows the BPCM to monitor for conditions that could lead to a fire.

My battery is also getting replaced.

The same issue just happened to our van. Z11 recall repair occurred on Friday. We drove it home after a quick stop for food next door to the dealership. Didn’t drive it on Saturday. Drove less than a mile on Sunday. Turned van back on and P0EDD occurred. Waiting for dealership to open to determine next steps and if is still safe to drive.

Just got the P0EDD code today. Service advisor said it's safe to drive while we wait for a service opening. Appointment scheduled for Jan. 2. How likely is it that the battery pack will be replaced?
It's a good chance it'll likely get replaced from what I have seen. Once you get that code it's a degradation on the battery pack so they usually will replace it. I haven't heard or seen otherwise.

I'm surprised they let you take it. They wouldn't let me drive mine with the code. The software has basically identified the battery is failing.

Keep it parked outside. Don't bother trying to charge it, it won't let you. They will probably get the battery replacement in 2 to 3 weeks.

After the replacement, expect the coolant level to get low in the battery resevior.
Good luck.

Thanks! I was surprised also. Did they cover a rental for the entire duration?

Just got the vehicle back today with its fresh, new hybrid traction battery, and they did a stellar job. They flushed the coolant and also replaced the 12V battery because of the additional strain it received while the traction battery was depleted. We spent a total of $11.70 because we needed to replace a key fob battery (it didn't like the battery I bought on Amazon). We are happy campers, all things considered.

Heads up that even if the coolant is flushed with the high-voltage battery replacement service, you may experience a Service Hybrid Electric System warning light and a code related to low coolant some time down the road. It took about a month for the coolant issue to appear for us. I suggest that if the high-voltage battery is replaced, you make sure the work order and receipt indicate that a coolant flush was performed. That's the case for us, so I'm hoping this quick fix is covered under the 12-month 12,000-mile warranty on the parts and labor for our high-voltage battery replacement (at the shop now).
