I'm getting Touring - L Plus and I asked salesperson about the build dates. I've option to go with one built in October 2016 v/s one built in March 2017, difference in price is $400 between two. For some reason if I pick one built in March 2017 then the price is $400 more than one built in October 2016, Is it good idea to pay extra $400 and go with one built in March 2017 v/s one built in October 2016 or use that $400 to put towards extended warranty and get one built in October 2016 ?
What is general consensus of people who have bought their van built in October 2016 ? I'm getting base Touring L Plus in Tusk White.

March 2017 likely includes engine start stop ESS which could account for the price difference. Personal preference from there.

My Tusk White was built in March 2017 and yes I paid the extra for the ESS which I really wanted and like. It also increases the gas mileage check the sticker.

I wouldn't buy a car when the people building it were in the holiday mood - Halloween yikes!?! So yes, work mood is good. So far I haven't found any issues with my March built Limited. I also waited to buy so that they would have worked out some of the bugs in this first year model. If you have read the forum you can see that earlier builds did have some issues. Good luck!

I'm not sure whether I'd like the ESS feature or not, but I definitely would prefer a newer built vehicle with all the latest technical (computer flashes) updates, as opposed to one sitting on a lot for 7 months.

Exactly! Who knows what could have happened to it during that time! While I was looking I came across one whose brakes (I think that's what you can see through the wheels) were completely rusted. Made me wonder where that one had been that caused all that rust. The others on the lot were not that way and we did have a hurricane with flooding last year. You just don't know.

Made me wonder where that one had been that caused all that rust. The others on the lot were not that way and we did have a hurricane with flooding last year. You just don't know.

The rust on the brake rotors is normal for a car that sits on the lot and doesn't get driving. A couple good drives around the block and the rust is gone. The rust wont hurt anything except maybe brake feel until the rust is worn away by the contact from pads. That vehicle on the lot with rusty rotors probably just hasn't been on a test drive in a while.
