Chrysler is still keeping everyone in the dark on this random stop delivery of this new Hybrid pacifica. Now only 3 weeks after initiating full scale production of this vehicle.
@ChryslerCares what's going on in the deep, dark secrete, bunker board meeting rooms?

Care to let the public in on the little secret?

Anyone have new word on what's actually going on, feel free to post below.

I'm amazed that not one new story has been release on this stop/hold.

I check in with my dealer on a daily basis to see if he's gotten any updates, and neither he nor his regional rep have been given any information at all, other than the "additional quality checks" response. As annoying as it seems, it may take having had vehicles in KZ status for a full 30 days before any red flags may go up. And even that, I'm a little concerned about, because Chrysler Cares has provided differing answers over how long mine's been in that status...luckily, I have screenshots from my dealer showing exactly when the status has changed.

On my window sticker, my SL is 426, so I'm only a couple of days away. Has anyone taken delivery (or seen one on a lot) with an SL after 423? All the ones I'm seeing as "In transit" are after that. That's my other curiousity - mine is in KZR status, which doesn't show up in the inventory at all, while a number of others are KZL status, which does show up. I'm not sure of the distinction.

This is why Tesla's model is the future. Do away with the dealer middleman and now you're talking directly to the manufacturer. Plus Tesla is generally upfront with the public on issues.

I was initially thinking that, but not having been one of the folks who had ordered a Model S or Model X pre-release, I'm not sure how well Tesla communicated with them. They were both over a year late, if I recall.

We have been very frustrated trying to purchase a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Platinum. Two different dealers have told us the vehicles are available, but in transit. The first dealership (in San Antonio) we filled out all the paperwork, got the financing taken care of at our bank, and although the vehicle was located at the railhead, were promised it would be there within 3-5 days at the latest. After a week, nothing, then told there was a stop sale and they couldn't sell it. Ugh. We called the second dalership who said absolutely not -- there was no stop sale that the first dealership was misleading us and Dealer 2 could sell us the vehicle coming to their location (ETA the end of May). They told us exactly what paperwork to bring, and essentially we were starting the process all over again. We verified several times they could sell us the vehicle. Yes, not a problem was always the answer. Dealer #2 (in San Marcos) was a bit out of the way location-wise, but hubby rearranged his entire schedule to get the paperwork started for this vehicle. Guess what -- he arrives today and they tell him they can't sell it. What!?!? After being treated so shabbily I don't know if we'll continue to pursue this vehicle; although we love it. Who do we contact for two awful experiences and why is this not bigger news??? We can't be the only ones. I get that it's a new type of vehicle, but why treat your potential customers this way?? Any advice is appreciated.

Yea that is a good point. Model X was 3 years late from the initial announcement. But once the vehicle was released, they took care of the bugs fairly quickly and I didn't hear of any holds like this. So more specifically I'm referring to the fact that they released the vehicles a month or so ago, and then started holding them a few weeks later with no explanation and the dealers being in the dark.

With the Tesla model, the dealer is the manufacturer so they can't give you the runaround that they don't know. And since Elon frequents Twitter, if a story gets big enough he will respond. Maybe that's part of the issue that there really isn't any news on this hold.

I'm in line to get a Model 3 shortly after they release it in July (if everything is on time). I wanted to get the Pacifica first because we have more of an immediate need for 6 seats, but if the 2018 comes out later this year, I'd probably get the model 3 first and get the Pacifica later.

I don't know as the dealerships are necessarily misleading you. Chrysler has not communicated anything to them. I'd be willing to bet that if they dealerships took a look at the actual VIN tracking data, they'd see an informal hold on the vehicles that are currently listed as "In Transit." With the typical turnover at the dealerships, most of them are just treating this like a normal vehicle order / delivery process, not necessarily thinking that it's a brand new model, nor have they had the experience of Chrysler having delays when launching other new vehicles - when they launched the 300 back in 2004, they held them in containment for 6 months because they had a bad habit of bursting into flames (turned out to be a single nut that wasn't tightened enough). So, this isn't really that weird of a situation, but dealers just don't have the experience with handling a product launch.

Really, I think the root of the problem is the project management team overseeing the hybrid launch, and them trying to cover their own butts a bit...so far, they haven't had to admit that there are any problems. A formal hold or stop sale, or a recall, are all big red flags that reflect poorly on the project team...something that they may have missed. So, naturally, they want to avoid those things at all costs. But I do think that it would be reasonable to expect them to at least communicate out to any dealers expecting vehicles to let them know that they are performing additional quality checks (or whatever BS explanation they want) and that the vehicles are temporarily delayed...but to let them know, so they can inform customers as well.

I think a lot of us may drop out of buying this car if they cannot get it to us before Memorial day weekend. We have road trips planned.

True that, we've had on going plans that haven't happened because of the lack of a car. If they keep up this silence we'll move on soon.

On the facebook group, someone mentioned that they were told the dealers would be getting an update today, and he got a call saying that his van should be released in the next couple of days. They're in Canada. Has anyone else gotten any updates from their dealerships or Chrysler to suggest that things may (or may not) be moving again?

Just to add fuel to the fire, friends of ours purchased a PacHy on May 16th that was in dealer inventory, but was told that there was a hold on delivering it. Well, today their dealer called and said the hold has been lifted and they can pick up their van tonight. No reason was given for the hold. So, I'm hoping that this situation will extend to all of you that have been patiently waiting for so long and your PacHy's can be delivered soon. **crossing fingers**

As of yesterday, my van was still in CA in a lot on hold. So whenever Chrysler decides to release the van, I'm still waiting 2 more weeks since it has to get here by boat still. :(
This van better be the "Bee's knees".
Roger that. Had mine since 03May17, ordered it on 20Dec16, in my opinion it is "The Bee's Knees" well worth the wait. let me know if you agree. Hope you get yours soon.

For what it's worth @Starstreak I'm in Ontario Canada, the place where they're built, and still waiting on mine. It's been stuck in a railyard two hours away for a month now. You aren't alone and at least with your delay you can blame an ocean for some of it, mine is only a short drive away so mentally it's agonizing. My dealer claims the hold is lifted but so far no sign that the van has moved at all.

I think they lifted the hold on in Stock units. It makes things a little cleaner that way. People ask more questions when a dealer can't sell a car sitting on their lot. Vehicles in transit are a totally different animal, they can blame the delay on any # of things, and will, until they figure out what this issue is with the odd problems occuring with units that have hit the grand.
