We own a 2017 Pacifica with 31K miles. We bought it brand new. We have had no issues whatsoever until we hit 30K miles. Then, the issues began. The newest issue that we just noticed is that there is a clunking-thumping noise coming from the driver's side front wheel well. This is felt the most when driving at slow speeds of 18-22 miles per hour. The driver can feel the thumping coming from under the left foot when placed close to the wheel well. The noise frequency follows the road surface's texture and is different than the consistent clicking type of sound one might get due to the rolling of the wheel. We have just gotten our Pacifica back from the shop after 2 weeks to fix the bubbling paint issue on the hood, and now we have to bring it back again for another issue. I hope the dealer can figure out what is wrong with the car and fix it quickly, otherwise I am seriously considering trading it in for another brand vehicle before our warranty is up. We still love our Pacifica, but reliability and safety trumps everything.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Thanks.

We have the same issue with our 2017 Limited with about 37K miles. It's more pronounced when you first get going and the vehicle is cold. Still need to take it in to the dealer to have it checked out.

Had this same issue a few month back and they supposedly tightened something in the suspension put some lock-tite on. I'll have to find the papers. Being a car guy, I still think there is still a slight clunking noise that is not noticeable to those not looking for it.

Clunkety Clunk @ Low Speed on uneven surface

I have a 2017 and this clunk started about 30K miles. Finally took it in at about 55000 miles and was told it is a broken or worn strut mount. I am pretty sure this is a known issue that is being avoided by dealerships based on the way I was treated (technically out of warranty). Dealership went to great efforts to avoid responsibility/accountability and could not get me out of there fast enough. Problem still not fixed at 70K.

The dealership determined that the clunking noise was due to a bad strut. They are replacing the strut with a new one today and will perform alignment. We will see if this corrects the symptoms. It should be still covered under warranty since we are at 31K miles. The service adviser mentioned that the malfunctioning strut was causing uneven tread wear on the tires, which I had to replace at roughly 20K miles. We will probably need to change the passenger side strut soon as well, since it thumps loudly when going over speed bumps at slow speeds. By the way, the rental car I am provided with during the repairs is a Jeep with 33K miles and it seems to have both front struts shot (exactly the same symptoms as our Pacifica). The vehicle rides super shaky and it is impossible to exceed 60K miles on the highway. Based on this, I guess that all Chrysler branded vehicles are likely to have the issue with the struts going bad soon after 30K miles.

2017 TL 55,000 mi. Yes, similar clunk/creak/click, possibly from both front L&R - worse when cold and worse in winter. Mostly noticeable at low speeds before road noise masks it. Performed the hub/lock-tite TSB - some improvement, but not nearly resolved. Hood acne, too.

We had tie end rods and a few other parts related to those as well as struts replaced at about 30,000...now they are saying we need strut mounts...at 45,000. Google says struts should always be replaced in pairs and strut mounts replaced when struts are done. Thankfully we have the extended warranty, but we have to pay the deductible..if they had fixed everything the first time, we wouldn't have to be dealing with this again..or pay the deductible. If my calculations are right, just over suspension, they have had our van three weeks total...kind of ridiculous.

If not in warranty, take it to a front end shop. Or any independent mechanic that does suspension work. Everything is less money than a dealership at an indy shop.
My Sienna needed struts. Toyota? 1200 bucks.
Indy shop? $800. Included alignment.

They have had our vehicle now for 6 days ..still not fixed and no word when it will be. There is a tsb regarding struts and strut mounts. Called Chrysler and they said if it's past the initial 36,000 mile warranty , not their problem, they only go by recalls. Yes, I have the extended warranty, but I don't feel that I should have to pay the deductible or have to keep coming back to the dealer for strut related issues...
