The following has happened twice since the purchase of my Pacifica:

After putting the gear in R to reverse, the backup camera comes on the main 8.4 NAV screen as it is supposed to. After putting the gear into D, the backup camera remains on. There is an "X" on the upper right hand corner. I try pressing to "X" it out, but it does not respond to the press. Periodically, the screen turns blue, with an "X" in the upper right hand corner. Again, I try to "X" it out, but it does not respond. Then the screen turns back to the backup camera view. When I turn the van off, and then back on again, the screen returns to normal.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is there a way to fix the problem without having to turn the van off?

Yes. This happened to me on an L+. I took to the dealer. they said video router module issue which transmits video from main screen to your rear screens. But I still have the same issue but then when you some times switch off the radio button on and off it works. Some times it comes on it's own after a mile or two ride. Sometimes it does not work. I posted this concern in this forum few times. I don't think dealers are knowledgeable enough to resolve this issue. I also feel that there is so much technology and Chrysler cannot handle this.

I believe the uConnect OTA update from earlier this year was supposed to correct this. I haven’t seen it happen again since the update.

Can you guys please post the years of your Pacifica? The 2017's have issues that the 2018s don't and vice-versa. It'd be nice to know which build date has these issues. Or if they are isolated.

Hi R8cerY,

Have you checked https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html to see if your system is ready for a software update? Please send u a direct message if you'd like to discuss this in detail.

Yes I have checked for the software updates, and the website shows all software is up to date on my VIN #
Thanks, R8cerY. Feel free to send me your VIN within a direct message. I would be glad to escalate this to a Uconnect Case Specialist for additional troubleshooting.

I think these private message requests are an attempt to get the conversation to end at least in public.

If Chrysler 'Cares' really cared they'd be getting full refunds for the victims of Fiat/Chrysler.

Like Toyota did with all the people that had the uncontrolled acceleration and engine sludge problems in their V6's?

Hi bradly1101,

Actually, since we request private details to get an inquiry escalated to a Case Specialist, we prefer customers send that information within a direct message. :smile2:

You think someone should get a full refund on their van if the backup camera occasionally glitches?

The nonfunctional Uconnect issues have been going on way to long. Who buys a $50k vehicle and expects to be pulling fuses constantly to reboot a poorly engineered entertainment system. Really surprised there has not been a class action suit yet and that FCA has not resolved the issue and continues to sell the vehicle.

The OP said it happened twice. I think it should be resolved to the OP’s satisfaction. I think a buyback might be a bit excessive.

Computer issue with car that drives less than 24 hours!

I have received my Pacifica 2018 Touring L Plus yesterday evening. Today I have successfully paired two phones (my wife's and mine) and Android Auto was working with both.

After making two short trips with the kids, I have noticed that Android Auto stopped working on my phone. I checked my wife's phone - the same problem.

Starting my next drive I have noticed my radio is locked, it required starting the car to unlock the radio. When I did it, I have noticed that I have lost my backup camera (doesn't work when I switch to reverse), seat and wheel heating have disappeared from controls, Bluetooth does not work anymore with both phones (tried to unpair and pair again, but the phones don't see the car). And the craziest thing is that AC now works only in two modes - HI or LO, I cannot set the temperature at all.

I have also seen that many settings have disappeared from the settings menu as well. The only new entry which appeared in the apps was "Dim mirror" which doesn't work by touching it, but reflects when I switch dim on the mirror itself. ANd all this with the car which is less than 24 hours on the road !!!!

I think it's ridiculous to release such a buggy software in the car that costs $40k+. I will try to contact my dealer Monday morning to see what can be done about it, but FCA, come on, these things are killing your reputation!!! I have checked the software site and it says that my software is up to date ...

Why do people feel that because a vehicle costs xxx amount that it should be free of issues?!? Yes buying a brand new vehicle that has issues right away sucks and I’m sorry to see that happen, but let’s face it, 40K is not that much for a vehicle in today’s standards.
Guess what, brand new 50 million dollar jets have major issues right from the factory. I’m just saying, price doesn’t matter and issues can and will occur with any vehicle. I would say things might be better over with the new 2018 Odyssey, but looking at the forums over there I’m not so sure.

Huh? They were offering to help and get more info from you privately and that’s what you say?
I hope you’re not serious about getting a refund for a vehicle because of two minor backup cam issues. Unreal.

The intermittent backup camera/blue screen view still occurs a few times a week. These problems are minor and not a big issue for me, as they are resolved whenever the vehicle is shut off and restarted. I still love the vehicle. Hopefully there will be a software update in the future to fix it.

Random stuck on birds eye view

We bought a 2018 pacifica limited 3 weeks ago. One of the primary reasons was the birdseye view camera (wife loved it on our previous BMW's) which was not available in the competition.

I have run into this problem at least 3 times (van has 700 miles currently) when the screen just gets stuck on birdseye view even when I'm driving at 50-55 mph. The touchscreen is completely unresponsive and I cannot use any on-screen controls. The only way out is to pull over, completely turn off the car and then start again.

No updates available for uconnect (site says I'm up to date).

I feel like this is a safety issue as certain car features are only available via on-screen controls (navigation) and definitely annoying (changing heated/cooled seats, controlling uconnect theater).

I'm having second thoughts about going with Chrysler now. Love the creature comforts in my care but don't know if the technology will work long term (poor software quality control)

My 2017 Pacifica has been nothing but trouble since purchased in March of 2017. Now when I accelerate the thing shakes like crazy. Took too dealer and they said all 6 cylinders were misfiring. All spark plugs replaced and a full time up, still having same issues. It's back at dealer, anyone else have this issue? Thinking about calling chrysler but I know when it's fixed it's gone.
