I bought a new Pacifica LX, I took it from the dealer and when I was driving home from nothing the windshield cracked on the bottom passenger side.
It wasn't a rock !!! any clue?
Most times you can take a ball point pen and run it along the crack and if it catches on anything it is usually an impact crack, if not then could be a stress crack

Hi Edu,

Sorry to hear about this! Have you reached back out to your dealership for further assistance? I'm happy to follow up with them for you if needed, just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

Same thing happened to us on a Sunday morning going to church in San Francisco. It was quiet with very little traffic and when I looked to the passenger side upper edge there was a crack. We heard no rock hit or anything. I think it was a stress crack but I am not an expert so I will ask the dealer when I go in for my first oil change about it and we'll see what happens. I wonder if there are any TSB's regarding this issue.

Hi

I took it to the dealer, unfortunately they don't have the windshield in stock and will call me back within a week, I really hope Chrysler won't charge me anything as there's no sign of rocks and no external marks.

Are windshield cracks covered by your insurance? I had this happen to me on my older vehicle and surprisingly insurance did cover it with a $0 deductible (even though my normal deductible is higher) since the crack was larger than a credit card.

There was no deductible because it is covered under Comprehensive.

Similar thing happened to me. The day i picked it up a crack formed from the top above the camera. It went about 12 inches down the middle of the windshield. 12 months later the same thing just happened. Two windshields in twelve months.
