Most times you can take a ball point pen and run it along the crack and if it catches on anything it is usually an impact crack, if not then could be a stress crackI bought a new Pacifica LX, I took it from the dealer and when I was driving home from nothing the windshield cracked on the bottom passenger side.

There was no deductible because it is covered under Comprehensive. Are windshield cracks covered by your insurance? I had this happen to me on my older vehicle and surprisingly insurance did cover it with a $0 deductible (even though my normal deductible is higher) since the crack was larger than a credit card.
