I recently purchased a CPO 2018 PacHy Limited.

I can't find a way to turn on the wifi in order to stream/cast from my phone to my vehicle's screens.
Possibilities:

1. The wifi is disabled, I'm just stupid and can't figure out how to navigate to the "enable wifi" button. I didn't see it under settings>UConnect. Is it hard to find? Can anyone help guide me?

2. The Wifi is dead/glitched/disabled. I can add it to my list of nits for the dealer to fix before my short-term unlimited CPO warranty is up.

3. I have to pay for the Uconnect Subscription in order to enable vehicle wifi of any kind. The manual sort of hints at this, but this seems unlikely and would be a little bit of a bummer, if true, because I'm not buying a hotspot plan or paying for any subscription service. I already have it on my phones, and I don't need all the Chrysler remote vehicle app stuff. I can do all that with cheap OBD tools. I just want to cast Netflix, Youtube, or something to my vehicle screens, and maybe see what else I can mess with through the onboard wifi.

Can anybody help me figure this out? Thanks!

Oh, I do not see my vehicle's wifi--or anything that looks like it could be my wifi (previous owner might have renamed it)--from my phone when looking for local networks.

Also, where is the menu to rename the wifi?

Well, I found it. However, the network name is "Direct - #" where # is a letter that seems to change every time I turn wifi off and on. I also found the hotspot on switch. I have both custom names and set the hotspot wifi password (no option for the wifi projection manager), but my phone can't connect because the password is not correct.

Is there a default password for streaming? I have a feeling I'm in some sort of wifi fault mode, and that is why I can't connect or change the wifi name.

So the hotspot settings are separate from the mirror cast projection. Got it.

That means I can leave the hotspot off while turning on the projection wifi. I have a feeling I need software updates for the mirror cast as well. Or possibly a module reset or replacement.

Does the mirror cast wifi have a place to set the password, or a default password? I found a place in the projection settings to rename it, but no place to put in a password. The renaming doesn't work, but I do see a wifi connection (with some sort of default name) appear when I check the "on" box. When I try to connect my phone to it, it asks for a password.

Or am I going about this all wrong? Do I have to start the video on my phone, then hit the "mirror cast button" on my phone, and THEN select the van's wireless? I kinda remember doing it that way with a TV once or twice.

Haha, so the miracast is actually FROM the Pacifica TO my phone?
Yeah, why would anyone use that? Maybe back-seaters, I guess.

I thought it was for casting TO the Uconnect, not the other way around. So if I want to cast to the van's screens, I'll need a roku, firestick, or chromecast. Got it.

Update: I finally found my problem -- my phone. I have pixel phones, which do not have Miracast, I presume so that Google may sell more chromecasts.
