Wondering if someone can confirm if the Pacifica hybrid has a GVWR (gross weight) of over 6,000 pounds so we can take advantage of the 179 deduction. Can someone look at the inside of the driver side door and confirm? I see different weights listed on various websites, hoping someone with the car can confirm. Thanks.

You're going to have to wait until people start getting them if you want somebody to check the sticker. But everything that I see online says that the hybrid has a GVWR of 6300 lbs. and the gas-only version has a GVWR of 6005 lbs.

Gosh that's a tricky one. I wonder if you'd have to reduce basis by the $7500 credit.

Form 8936 is the plug-in vehicle form and section 179 is calculated into it. I didn't play with the form but you can look it up.

I looked at the sticker on the driver's door of my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, and it indicates that the GVWR is 6,300 pounds. This is consistent with the information that @shikataganai posted earlier.
