Any update on the driver side door opening? We purchased a 2018 Pacifica and it does the same thing. Been to dealer 2x and both times they cannot replicate the problem. They seem to think something is in the way when clearly it is not. Just curious if anyone has found a fix? Thakns.

Have your service department call the STAR desk. There is a software update to correct this problem.

I also started having problems with my driver's side sliding door yesterday. :( I could not open it using the overhead console button, the push button on the handle or the key fob. I had to manually pull it open. I locked the van and tried again a few hours later and it was working, although making an abnormal noise. I hope it doesn't turn into one of these intermittent issues that can't be duplicated by the dealer.

Good to know. My car does this as well, but so far has only been once or twice, and intermittently enough that I had been assuming a kid must have shifted something to block the sensor. I will request the software update when I go in next!

Not yet. As of today been waiting for 2 weeks to get it into the dealership. Oddly enough was at the dealership last weekend for the 1st oil change and the door did it twice for on the service advisor. Plan on leaving there until fixed along with the 2nd recall software update.

I took it into the dealer today and they have ordered rollers and will replace it when the parts come in. They indicated that the entire tracks might need to be replaced but that Chrysler requires them to try replacing only the rollers initially to see if that solves the issue. Is this correct? :frown2: They also indicates they got a code related to a calibration issue which was generated and stored in the vehicle when the door temporally stopped working this week.

Hello Claudia,
Please know as a member of the customer care teams, I am not mechanically trained myself. I cannot speculate on what is considered the proper repair process for your vehicle. I can get you in contact with the proper teams who can reach out to the dealer to look into this further for you. If this is something you are interested in, please send us a private message with your VIN, phone number, current mileage and servicing dealer.

Thank you for the reply. I wasn't really looking for any speculation. My question was related to Chrysler's policy as described by dealer. I will PM the information requested. Thanks again.

I am about to get the rollers on the sliding door replaced as they were making a lot of noise. Not the same issue as this, but there are a lot of issues with these vehicles. I've had my 2017 in the shop 5 times in 7 months.

Agree, at least more so for the 2017 model year. My 2017 has been in multiple towns totaling over 45 days and the drivers sliding door controls stopped functioning but waiting for the official recall notice to take care of everything at once.

I am having the driver's side sliding door on my 2017 Pacifica hybrid issue. When I bought car in sep 2017 it was fine. Then a couple months later the door started reopening on its own when you closed it. It does not open randomly like another I had read about. This summer it almost went away but now it has turned cold and the issue is back with a vengeance. Could it be temperature related? I have been to the dealer twice and they could not get it to happen for them. I will take it back when we have another cold snap. If anyone has a solution please let me know.

Googled "Chrysler Pacifica door won't close" and ended up here. I, too have this issue with my 2017 Pacifica. Like all the others, my driver's side sliding door will shut, begin to make the latch closing sounds, then completely reopen. Unfortunately I even trimmed the WeatherTech (dealer installed) floormat, thinking maybe that was projecting too far into the door passage and triggering the re-open sequence.

I, too, have taken our van to the dealer, and only had the reply "sorry we couldn't get it to happen."

I see in the previous post: "Have your service department call the STAR desk. There is a software update to correct this problem."

Can anyone confirm if that's true, that there is a software update to solve this?

Hello w_r_e,
Recently there was a Technical Service Bulletin 08-027-18 that appears to address concerns similar to the symptoms that you are having with your vehicle. To ensure this TSB applies, we would like to get you back into the dealer to have a qualified technician review the details of the TSB and specifics of your vehicle. Once reviewed, the technician can then perform the repair procedure that best matches the symptoms and diagnosis of your vehicle. If you have any further questions, we would be happy to connect you with a case specialist to assist throughout working with your dealer. Feel free to private message us!
