Sorry if this is wrong area.
I'm guessing the Hybrid is using the Uconnect® Theater Package, the Alpine setup. Can you actually watch movies on the front viewscreen when the car is in park? I see a picture of the cd loader and it says: dvd player (rear) so does that mean I can only watch when I crawl into the back seat?

I don't think anyone has received an actual production unit yet to verify. The end of January is when most of the early ordered units are "supposed" to ship.

If its like the theater package in the gas version, yes you can watch the movie on the front 8.4" display when the vehicle is in park. In my experience, picture quality is bad on the front display, though.

Yeah, movies look pretty terrible on the front screen. They look much better on the rear screens.

Can't be any worse from my 2007 Lexus. It's a 7in? I'm pretty sure its a 800x480. Or something like that. So it should be as good or better. But yeah, I won't get my hopes up when we get the van. :smile2:

Can I hitch a ride on this thread? Will the DVD player play CDs too? I plan to travel a lot when I buy a Pacifica and I'd like to have books on CDs with me to pass the time.

Yes, you can, but it is not a dedicated audio source and a rather wonky process to get to. Basically you will start playing the CD via the Uconnect Theater for one of the rear screens and then "listen in" to direct the audio over the main cabin speakers.

You would be better served to just convert to USB. Maybe ChryslerCares can take some of the feedback about CD audio back to the appropriate team to give the audio source functionality via a software update.

I think that gadget is a DVD player, not a Blu-Ray player.
