Electronic Stability Control and Brakes Lights Always On

8482 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  ChryslerCares
In my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, purchased in December 2016, the Electronic Stability Control light always comes on when I drive faster than 50 mph and doesn't disappear even when I drive slower. It only shuts off when I turn off the car. The ESC light reappears when I start the car and reach about 50 mph. Just recently, the brake light on the dashboard will come on continuously soon after the ESC light comes on and doesn't disappear until I turn off the car. The parking brake is not on. Why do these lights signify. a problem with my electronic system?

This is a list of common defective parts that can cause the ESC light to go off or malfunction.

From an article I found for troubleshooting ESC systems
1-Brake light switch. A defective brake light switch can trigger the ESC light. This is a common problem. Easy to replace and inexpensive.
2-A bad wheel speed sensor. Clean or replace the ABS sensor.
3-ABS module malfunction. Needs to be properly diagnosed.
4-Steering angle sensor. Sensor may require calibration.
