I ran across an interesting article about the differences between tires for ICE and EVs:

The article points out a number of differences and their impact on tire design.

I initially thought this all sounded pretty reasonable...and I still think it does to a degree...but then I ran across very similar articles, on different web sites, a published in the last couple of weeks:

Popular Science: Heavy EVs need strong tires—which means reinventing their wheels​

InsideEVs: What Is An EV Tire And Do I Need It?​

So now I think the articles are at least partially the result of a tire industry PR campaign...

This fact has been covered numerous times , been a know fact for years . So nothing new really , tire manufacturers trying to reinvent the tire , tire characteristics for the market .
