I know this may sound insulting, but the first two times I tried charging I got the physical response from dashboard LED of the 2 outside lights on dash blinking. So make sure it clicks when you plug in and if you still have the error plug in, immediately unplug and plug in immediately a second time to see if that helps. That is the physical override in forcing immediate charging.

If you look in the owners' manual, you can read the blinking pattern on the charger to see what the error is. I have a Kill-a-Watt in the outlet and the Chrysler charger will not work in the kill-a-watt, but works fine in the normal outlet. So, it could be a grounding problem or something.

We tried another level 2 charger at a Chevy dealership and still received the issue detected message. We tried unsnapping it quickly and reinserting quickly with no luck. Level 1 charging is working fine. Any other suggestions.

The question to ask is what are the blue LED lights signaling when you try level 2 charging as opposed to your successful level 1 charging success? Is that how you derived that your issue is technically indicated a "charging error" and you are not just relaying to us you have a charging error referenced somewhere else say on the console?

Definitely make sure you push the charging plug in well until you hear/feel a mechanical click from the plug locking into place. There have been many instances when my wife or myself have plugged in our other EV without giving it that forceful clicking engagement, and returned the next morning to find our car had not charged.

I just got the same error but mine is charged though. I have a Level 2 charger.

I schedule my ChargePoint charger so it's inactive certain parts of the day, kind of like shutting it off. I don't think the Pacifica likes to see an inactive charger plugged in.

We are getting bars in the one and 5 position which is external charging error. We get the click and have done it all. Have service appointment tomorrow will follow up on here after.
That is the same error I got the first two times I tried to charge. I think it has something to do with the u connect scheduling app. There was initially a choice to do off hours/evening charging selected. And i finally got it to charge using the plug unplug plug. I then could turn off the scheduling evening choice. Since I live in a single rate utility there is no benefit in not just plugging in and letting it charge. I wonder if the dealer in charging it up had not correctly turned off the transport mode or turned on scheduling

Yes, if scheduling is on and active, the 1 and 5 blue LEDs will turn on when the PacHy is plugged in. It will then start blinking each LED in successive order for a little while until they turn off altogether.

You can turn off the scheduling so that the PacHy will charge every time it is plugged in. The other thing you can do, if you want the scheudle but also want the option to manually charge whenever, is to set the "Engine Off" delay to something other than 0 seconds. Mine is set to a delay of 45 seconds. When I park my PacHy and press the "Engine Off" button, everything will remain on until I open the door. During that delay, a message will pop up on the Nav screen asking if you want to allow charging now or to adhere to the schedule. If you want to charge immediately, tap "Okay" to allow manual charging now and then plug in your PacHy.
