Has anyone had this issue? My new to me van has had the check engine light come on 4 times now. Each time it flashes, dings, and the engine or transmission seems to shutter and not run properly. When I drive it for 1-2 miles, the light clears out and the engine/transmission returns to normal driving conditions. I've had it in the dealership twice now and they said there is no code and nothing they can do as the van seems to clear and correct the issue. I'm floored and so bummed to have went out on a limb for my first CJD product and love it, but not happy about this issue.

Besides checking the battery (which I also recommend since battery issues tend to affect this van in odd ways), you can private message @ChryslerCares (by clicking on the red letters) with your VIN and see if they can be of assistance in working with your dealer. If you put your van info (year, trim, gas/hybrid, etc.) in the signature line of the UserCP it will show up at the bottom every time and make it easier for others to help answer your questions. Welcome to the forum.

My first thought: Take it to an auto parts store and have a free battery/charging system test.
Wouldn't this be something the dealer would've or should've already done during both times they've had it?

Thank you for everything! I will do that all now ? Wouldn't the dealer have already checked the battery?

I can't find where to put a signature.
Go to the line with Welcome and then go to the right side to User CP next to Log Out. Click on User CP and then choose Edit Signature. Don't worry, being on a forum was confusing to me at first, but it has been helpful.

As far as the battery is concerned, it doesn't seem like there was a battery light that came on when other members have had bad batteries, so it may not be obvious to check. This van has a lot of technology that the service department may not be experienced with. @ChryslerCares may be able to assist the dealer annd offer suggestions in solving your van's problem.

I have this exact same issue with my 17 Pacifica. I use it as a long distance courier delivery vehicle and this started happening to me last night with 299,505 on the odometer. I had my normal mechanic scan it as well as my transmission specialist and neither could pull up anything as the code only lasted a few minutes afterward, however, I noticed that when I lifted my foot off the gas even driving on level ground, the van would jerk a little bit. I am also do for my 60000 mile trans flush. So possibly a transmission issue. I will know within a week or two and another five thousand miles, lol!

As an aside, I started experiencing hard shifting at 187,000 miles. Original transmission is still somehow working over 100,000 miles later. So anyone experiencing this should just power through, keep flushing fluids regularly and accelerating at a medium to brisk Pace usually stops the hard shifts. I have a trans from a used 19 Pacifica waiting at the shop for when this one goes. Cost 3200 and only had three thousand miles on it when the vehicle was wrecked. Labor will be 1100.

A lot of the 17s do that. Mine was shifting hard from second to third. After multiple scans and no codes coming up. We found out that there is an update for the transmission.... ( whatever that entails ) we brought it to vatland Chrysler. They did the update n problem solved. Hope this is helpful

A flashing check engine light normally is alerting the driver to a misfire on one of the engine cylinders. When a cylinder misfires it sends raw fuel to the catalytic converter which damages them so the flashing light is meant to catch the driver's attention. This normally will set a misfire code and the offending cylinder in the ECM. Still learning about this van but from your description I'd say you have a cylinder that is misfiring. The code will clear after a few key cycles so it is important to have the ECM read soon after the engine light comes on.
