I am having a real struggle keeping the 2nd & 3rd row side windows defogged when carrying a full load of passengers during winter. When using the defrost setting on the climate control, the passengers report no air coming from overhead rear vents angled to the windows. Same with defrost/floor mix setting. Only center vent (not dehumidified air) sends air out the rear overhead vents. Is there truly no climate setting to defrost the rear side windows? Anyone else have this problem? Wondering if maybe my climate control system is not working correctly or if this is just a bad design flaw.

Hi Nails1,

If you decide to have your dealership look into this further for you I'd be happy to follow up with them if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

When carrying that many people, I would suggest turning the fan up manually to a higher speed. I find this necessary in most vehicles I've ever owned.

This issue occurs with recirculate off with defrost on at max fan. Anyone else experience inefficient defrosting of rear windows?

Is the a/c off by mistake? On my Pac, sometimes the system forgets that we left it in auto mode and we wonder why the air is hot and humid (been raining everyday since we got the Pac) when we get in, pushing the auto button solves the issue.

Interesting suggestion Norbert. My past experience in other vehicles is that when the defrost is selected, the a/c compressor kicks on automatically to dehumidify the air. Will the Pacifica allow you to have a/c & defrost selected simultaneously? When in defrost mode with defrost button light on and the back climate control synced with front, no airflow is blowing from the overhead vents in the back or from anywhere else in the back as far as we can tell. So while the front and front side windows are clearing, the back sides are fogging. Problem is worse with full load of passengers. Just trying to figure out if something's not working correctly or just an insufficient design.

I'm going to guess that the rear is blowing at the floor if it's an auto. Try manually selecting the upper vents for the rear.

With nothing about your van in your signature line we will have to guess what you have. I just checked mine and with the air set to feet and window and then the defroster button on and fan max, lots of air. Rear is on and set to face and full blower. Turned to the windows I get a big blast of air on my van. If yours is set this way and you do not have good air flow, something must be wrong.(we can hope they got it fixed. Have to remember to check the dates on these posts)
Welcome BrierPac.
