I just picked up a 2018 limited that has 2 odd issues.

First gps is not working. Factory nav has no idea where I am.
Second, uconnect has no service and can't send me an email to connect and sos gives me a phone error.

Any ideas on an easy fix, or is this a dealer visit?

I would reboot the system. The only way to do this is to remove Fuse 76 and replace it. I had to do this a few times over an almost 2-year period.. When I mentioned it to the dealer the ordered a new radio card and it has not occurred since.

Did you register with Mopar and UConnect when you got the van? You might have to call them or go online to register the van if you haven't already done so.
Have you paired your cell phone to the van?
Have you checked the update number in Uapps, Settings, System Information for the current UConnect info. You can check your VIN at
You can download more extensive manuals at Mopar and UConnect websites. Maybe p.118 of the following manual might help.
I'm not sure what else you can try, so you may have to get the dealer to look at the van if nothing else works.

Not sure why, but our GPS went haywire after Daylight Saving Time shift. After messing with the system I deselected the option to have the digital clock sync with GPS. Now it works again. For trial I reselected gps/clock sync and it no longer can find the car and just slowly spins in circles. Not sure why but it worked

Hi, it sounds like your Uconnect system needs to be updated. The files for software level 18.45.01 are currently available on driveUconnect.com. I would recommend checking if this update is available for your vehicle. If so, you will be able to download the software to a USB and update your vehicle at home. Please let me know if you have any questions.

So I think I see the problem. I bought it used and possibly didn't get the update for the 11/3/19 deadline for GPS.
I picked up the car on 11/7. But by that point all gps services stopped.
Is there a way to get the update after this deadline?
Maybe a forced reset will work?

I wouldn't try a forced reset. I thinK downloading the update from the UCONNECT website if available would be best. Use a new USB stick or one that is completely empty. The we site says how many GB needed, maybe less than 8GB. Dowload and extract update. Remove everything except what matches the instruction info on the UCONNECT download page. My first try didn't work since it didn't match. I'd left the new stick info and folder after extracting that needed removed.
It took about 30 minutes to download to van with the engine running so it is recommended to have at least 1/4 tank of gas and time to sit in the van while it updates.

The problem I have is the 18.45.01 update isn't listed on the uconnect website.

Then you could wait awhile or make an appt with dealer to have them do it. Ask what the charge would be if not under warranty.
If leaving gps clock unchecked resolves main issue, I would leave it that way and then see if the update is available online in a few weeks.

Hi Alison,

I have a 2018 limited that's had Android Auto GPS issues for the last year. But I've never gotten a software update since about 14 months ago. Every time I check that website with my VIN it just says I'm on the latest version. I've tried taking it to the dealer but ended up being a waste of time, so not sure what to do.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear this. I would like to open a case for you and get you to a Uconnect specialist. If you'd like, please PM us your VIN, email, phone number, and mileage to get started.

The same problem appeared suddenly at about the same time. The GPS got totally lost and would intermittently lose all satellite connections. On or about Feb 12, I got an OTA (over the air) system update. I didn't even know they could do that. After the update, the GPS worked fine. I read that there was an issue with the GPS satellites. It was kind of a Y2k thing and that some GPS systems have to be updated. I don't know if that was the problem or not but the GPS was fixed nonetheless.

You have a 2018. I believe that update is only for the 2017s. The Uconnect hardware changed between the years and I wouldn't expect a 2017 update to work on a 2018 head unit.

I rarely use the Navigation but tried it about 6 weeks ago (before daylight savings ended) and it couldnt see any satelites. I took it in yesterday and the decided to order a new "radio". Should be here in a week.

The Uconnect site was saying that my vehicle was up to date. I sent Chrysler Cares a PM here and they were able to make it so I could download the update. I installed it last night, and everything (Clock, GPS, Hybrid Mileage Tracker) is working great.

What year is the van?
