While I was about to reverse into my garage my electronic hand brake came on automatically. I didn’t immediately notice as my hand was on the gear selector. I thought I must have been stuck but then noticed that the parking brake was on. All attempts to release it failed so now car blocks my driveway and unable to move it.
Has anyone had this issue? Using the display I attempted to disengage it via settings-brakes. But was unable to here either as it would go to “service mode”.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I work on FCA cars, I noticed that if I don’t have the seat belt on and the driver’s door is open at the same time, the parking brake automatically engages when the car starts to move. Maybe this is what engaged it to start. To disengage, you must have your foot on the brake pedal and press the button. Hope this helps.
