Where does the cable for the HDMI Port on the back of the driver and passenger seat go to? I want to "hide" the computer that plugs into those sources. I have had to replace the hdmi cables a couple times now due to a kick of a childs foot or someone will get caught on the cable and it bends the end. It just seems like a poor decision to put the HDMI port there.

Thanks for any help anyone might have.

They ultimately end up at the video/audio router under the front passenger seat. I don't know if it is a straight HDMI cable run or if some electronics exist along the path.

Did you ever figure it out? I have the same problem. Tried 90 degree HDMI adapters, but those broke too. I agree, the location is retarded. Was thinking of adding an HDMI switcher in between the seat connector and the source so that I can add a permanent fireTV Stick, but allow for switching to the seat input when needed.

Bumping to see if anyone has a solution for this yet ?

I would like to add a Pi or Nvidia Shield to our theater and do not want to have the kids breaking the the HDMI inputs on the headrests.

I would be ok w/ just using the uconnect theater if it played the next episode automatically and I didn't have to browse to their show everytime. I would prefer to have Kodi and more app options available during long trips.

No answer yet, but this might be useful. @BrettP posted some instructions with pictures that describe how to disassemble the screens. In one of the pictures you can see the module that contains the HDMI port. The picture isn't close enough to see what type of connectors they are using, but at least his instructions will show you how to open it up and take a look.

I bought one of the of the inputs from ebay and was planning on taking it apart to see if there is an HDMI input inside meaning the user input is just a coupler.

I really do not want to have to splice into the HDMI connection and attempt to figure out which wire is what. That link does have a lot of info for me on how to take apart the back seat, thank you !

I took the HDMI input apart and the board says Unwired Technology HDMI Media Port and has 005030 REV B marked

my googlefu was unable to provide any results unfortunately.

Considering removing the HDMI input on the board and soldering a new one that I can change the orientation on. It would probably be easier to tap into the HDMI through the audio/video router Brett mentions but I haven't dove into that yet.

In case anyone else is following, this will have to do for now.

A little work with the dremel, I flipped the board around and now can run an HDMI cable to my source unit. Either Pi or Nvidia shield, not sure which one I will use.

Considering just using the Pi since I can run it off the same USB Input available on the input.

Following. Would love to hook up a Roku/FireTV out of the way. The HDMI ports on the seats are horrible, they don't grip well (and teherefore make poor connection) and are prone to getting bumped and snapping things off.

I know this is an old posting but I wanted to ask do you have pictures of the front side after you flipped it? What do you see on the other side where the ports used to be?
