The heated passenger seat in my 2017 Pacifica Limited turns down from high to low about 5 minutes after it is activated. The owners manual references 60 minutes as the period after which the heated seats will turn down from high to low. Does anyone have any similar experiences? Thank you for any responses.

Hi Bmurtaugh, welcome to the forum! Mine does not do that. Does it do it every time or just sometimes? Just driver's side or both sides?

I am not doubting you, as they DO step down and eventually turn off... I think though that the timing is off. If i recall right, it was 15 minutes on high and 60 minutes for total on process, leaving us with 45 minutes of "low" heat setting.

This is "another" area that would be best served if it allowed the owner to customize the length of time the heated seats stay on and stay on high (before going to low). And a few more power settings wouldn't hurt either.

I find the high setting gets too hot too soon, especially when the outside temperatures are relatively mild (25-35°F). I'm constantly having to manually select the low setting after just a couple of minutes to avoid the roasting of my nodules.

When it has been really cold (0°F) the "high" setting is much more palatable for a much longer period of time (duh). But having an adjustable timer maybe based on outside temperature with a chart where you could pick power levels for various temperature ranges would be awesome.

To be honest, this is a common problem in most vehicles. Out of the last 10 cars I've owned there was only one that didn't roast my ars on even the lowest setting, that was an Audi, it had a knob that had many fine adjustments for adjusting the temperature of heated seats and worked quite well. All the Fords I've owned were horrendous, even the lowest setting was way to hot!

In closing I find the low setting on the Pacifica to be just fine most of the time. But more power settings/adjustments would be appreciated.

Hi Bmurtaugh,

If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

The first few drives our passenger seat was doing the same thing. Been working fine theart few weeks though.

Also, I think our seats are too mild on high. Our dodge journey seats get toasty warm.

Interesting. My Pacifica seats (and steering wheel) seem to get hotter than my Cherokee does and hotter than my Journey did. Maybe some are calibrated differently?

just remember, heat is a fancy word for "transfer of energy" therefore, the actual measurement means something different to each person.

I already have a case open with Customer Care and it's currently at the dealership. It's been looked at by a TA too. Getting nowhere
