Anyone has successfully setup the homelink button? I followed the instruction by pushing and hold the homelink button 1 and at the same time push and hold the garage opener key for quite long time, but looks like the homelink is not able to learn. (slow flashing and not turn to quick flashing)

Did I do something wrong?

Thanks.

Do you have a garage door opener with a rolling code?
I believe after that step you need to put the opener itself in learning mode and hold the Homelink button you programmed.
Your garage door opener will learned the Homelink button code and after that is should work.

Did you erase all the Homelink channels before you started?

To erase the channels place the ignition in the ON/RUN
position and push and hold the two outside HomeLink
buttons (I and III) for up to 20 seconds or until the orange
indicator flashes.
NOTE:
• Erasing all channels should only be performed when
programming HomeLink for the first time. Do not erase
channels when programming additional buttons.

Our garage door opener came with the house....built back in 1994 so it is very old...but still working! Anyway, followed the instructions to set up homelink, erased channels then proceeded... and I too was waiting for the light to flash fast. Didnt happen but clicked the homelink and it worked! I guess just try anyway to see if it received the code.

Hi Simonwang,

Sorry to hear about this! Pages 147-152 of your Owner's Manual provides information regarding programming, reprogramming and troubleshooting your HomeLink system. You can download a copy of your Owner's Manual from the Knowledge Center on www.mopar.com. Your manual also provides a contact number and website for assistance with your HomeLink system: 1-800-355-3515 & HomeLink. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Is your garage door opener compatible with Homelink? I have a Wayne Dalton opener circa 2002 that is not per their website. Check with the opener manufacturer.

Hello all. I had success with my homelink after 2 failed attempts. I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence but make sure you leave the key fob in the vehicle when you get out to push the button on the back of your actual opener. On my first 2 attempts, I had my key fob in my pocket and I never did get the "fast flash." After leaving the fob in the vehicle, everything responded according to the manual.

Mine worked. I had the hand held in the car and left it there. Only issue was the final step (press button twice) I had to press it four times. At first I thought I might not have pressed them hard enough. When I set up my second garage opener though same thing. Had to press 4 times in order for the opener to operate. After that it was all good though.

Solved my issue. My Genie garage door opener remote was not compatible with Homelink. after purchasing a new remote, linking and programming that to my garage door, i was able to program the homelink correct and without any issues.
Hope this helps someone.

I had success with Homelink. I followed the youtube video Mopar had.

Steps I followed, from memory, don't remember exactly

1) Held down buttons one and three to erase everything
2) Got the garage fob and held down the open button w/ the first button in the Pacifica and waited for rapid blinking
3) Quickly, hit the learn button inside the garage on the garage opener
4) Then hit the first button again two or three times in 2 second intervals
5) Garage door opened/closed

I think it's only standard on upper trim models.

Mine worked the first time I tried. I do not have any issues with it other than the fact that it is located on the sun visor which I think was a stupid idea. When you use the sun visors it is in fact flipped to the other side and when you reach home you are left searching for the button until you remember to flip back the visor first. Why didn’t they place it on the roof like most other cars?
