I cracked an outer tail light yesterday with a well-placed recycling bin. I see that there are 2 versions available: LED and regular incandescent/halogen.

How can I tell which one I have? Both seem to have THE LED strip around the perimeter. Thanks for your help!

Those are definitely LEDs. What year and trim level is yours? Gas or hybrid?

Another way to tell whether a light is LED as compared to any other light which uses a heated filament is that it turns on and off instantaneously. Your eye can see the ramp up and ramp down of a bulb with a filament because it takes a finite time to heat up and cool down. An LED does too but that time is way too short for your eye to detect.
