Just picked up our Pacifica Touring-L with the Kensense option. Dealership gave us 2 key fobs. One regular and one with Keysense logo on the back.
If I paid for the option, am I supposed to get 3 key fobs?
My wife is having trouble while driving with this Keysense fob on a highway. There is speed and audio volumn limits. The keysense light on the instrument cluster is also distracting.
I saw threads here some people got 3 key fobs for their Pacifica with Keysense option.
I called Chrysler Customer Service and the lady put me on hold and talk to my dealer for 10 minutes then come back to me says I have to pay my dealership to get more key fobs. Is this reasonable? Any suggestion?
Get ChryslerCares team that is on here involved. They should be able to help you out and correct the dealer if they are giving you incorrect information.
Yes, like everyone so far, 3 fobs..if I recall the key sense was bagged separate from the main 2 fobs. It's dealers that do things like this that adds to the negative stigma of vehicle purchasing. Agree, you need to go back to them and be firm or as mentioned, escalate to customer care. Good luck!
In the meantime, there is an option to disable keysense limits. It may alleviate some of the issues you are having while you wait for your 2nd normal fob.
A bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed that the keysense fob feels lighter than the regular fobs? I have not put them on a scale to verify, but in the hand there seems to be a difference.
I reached out to the brand for more information regarding your question. They confirmed that with the KeySense feature customers should receive one regular key fob and one KeySense fob that can be programmed to influence the driving in the vehicle (manage top speed, radio noise, etc.). Let me know if you have any additional questions!
I'm not buying the response from the brand. At our dealer, they kept the accessories off-site at the new car prep area and to try and avoid theft (remotes, headphones, key-fobs, etc). When we took delivery of our Limited, the off-site location had closed for the evening, so the next time I went to the dealer, they gave me those items along with the floor mats and other miscellaneous items. Within the factory box were the two sets of headphones, remotes, and batteries along with the 2nd key fob and Keysense fob all keyed to our vehicle.
Very similar to my experience. All accessories you mentioned plus owners manual, wireless charging pad code for the free case, etc was kept secured together for delivery to the customer. In my box were the 2 regular keys and the keysense key for a total of 3 amongst all the other accessories specific to my vehicle. I think ChryslerCares is getting some bad info...
There's too many of us that got three keys or have our dealer's been wrong?? I can't link it but I was reading a similar run around on the Chrysler minivan fanclub forum with a gentleman and his new Pacifica....there the Chrysler rep confirmed three keys was correct and to go back to his dealership for the third.
I agree with the comment as well, what a pain to reprogram the key.
Our dealer even puts a red key chain on the key sense because they have had folks get them confused having THREE keys.
I just got another update from the brand, as many of you suspected the information I provided previously is incorrect (sorry!). Customers should be receiving 3 fobs with KeySense – 2 standard and 1 KeySense. I apologize for the confusion, anyone who only received 1 KeySense and 1 normal fob please PM our page with your VIN so I can look into this further for you!
There was just a post about this a couple days back, someone didn't get the second regular fob. Now someone mentioned the Hybrid only came with 2 fobs...I can't confirm this but yours a gasser or hybrid?
Err so if I have the keysense (hybrid model) and it does only come with two keys, will both keys be the one with all the buttons on it? Like remote start? Or will one be the full feature and other will only have the arm/disarm/door buttons?
All key fobs, including the Keysense one, have all the buttons on them. The only difference is the Keysense one says Keysense on the back of it and the car can be programmed to limit certain features when that key fob is used.
Just want to report back here. Thanks so much for everybody's input. The ChryslerCares team here listened and steps in. Things have been straightened out and I will get my missing key fob back soon.
I don't know what happened but somehow my dealership received only 2 key fobs for those Pacificas they sold(20 in total). Now they have to track down the other 19 owners and give them their missing fobs.
It is so great to have this forum and all the nice people here. Without your help, I would have to pay to get my own key fob back. Thanks to everyone and thanks to the ChryslerCares team.
I just wanted to confirm, my window sticker says it has the keysense option, but the dealership is saying that I have to purchase a fob for $175. From the comments no this threads, I am supposed to get 3 fobs with my purchase, right? I don't want to blow up the dealership if I am in the wrong, but I just bought my van yesterday and don't want to have trouble already.
You should have gotten 2 regular fobs and 1 Keysense fob (3 total). If your dealer tells you any different, send a pm to ChryslerCares and have them contact the dealer on your behalf.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
