PER ALHAMBRA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FORUM:

5/17 Update on Pacifica Hybrid Temporary Shipment Hold
Last shipment of Pacifica Hybrids that came into Alhambra Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram was on Thursday, May 11th, 2017. Nothing since then. There are several in transit (KZ status) and have made it to the storage area in Mira Loma, California, awaiting truck delivery. Previously there were dates for ETA on these vehicles. However, they have been changed to "TBD". No clarity on why there is a hold on the shipment. However, this does not seem to be an official recall, as those Pacifica Hybrids that made it to the dealerships are still allowed to be sold.....

Maybe Chrysler decided to stop selling Hybrids in California forever. That is a joke but so is the state of Ca. There are lots of manufactures that boycott the state. Personally I never buy anything made in Ca or sold and shipped from Ca. Just after I retired the State of Ca owed me about $2500. After repeated calls, letters from me and my attorney over 2 years, they finally sent me a letter saying they agreed that the state owed me the $2500 but the state was broke so if I wanted the money I would have to file a lawsuit to get. Hence my personal boycott. The US could save trillions of dollars giving Ca back to Mexico.

At least we have good weather. :)

Well, if California really is that unpopular with the rest of the US they can always join Canada! California is progressive enough I think it would be a pretty good fit. You'd have to provide free healthcare to ALL of your citizens though, not just the military ones, but the Federal government helps out with that, and with all the smart hard working people California has it would be a boon to our economy! Here in Canada we believe that good countries and their elected governments ought to take care of their citizenry. You know, the whole 'of the people, for the people thing'...? Turns out if you keep your people alive and healthy the country works a lot better! Who knew!?!? (Oh right, the entire developed world knows...except the US.) But I digress...

I wonder why there's a hold and when it will be lifted? Chrysler Cares told me that my particular vehicle is undergoing additional quality inspections, whatever that means.

If only the company had a department dedicated to maintaining good client relations so they could communicate important information to customers about their expensive vehicle purchases...they could even call it something clever like Chrysler Cares or something...crazy idea I know!

California

Yeah, California is so unpopular and no one wants to live there. I guess that's why houses keep getting more expensive all the time, must be that huge lack of demand. oh, wait...

My dealer in Michigan hasn't received a single hybrid yet. Are they even shipping any to places other than CA?

It might be hard to see from up on your high horse, but it aint all sunshine and movie stars in CA. They are running about a $90 billion deficit over the last 10 years. Does "boon" mean something different in Canada? It probably is easy to fund all that healthcare. You barely need a military, with your big brother USA standing behind you and shielding you from the world, and 95% of your citizens clustered and huddled in the lower 150km of your country, huddled against the economy warming glow of the good ole USA. Why yes, it probably is. You are welcome. P.S. I hope you sleep well at night, knowing that your happy place hiding behind our pant legs tossing insults is funded by oil and automobiles. The climate thanks you.

OH, geez. Can we just not have a political argument? Cars... shiny cars...
Or nice weather. :)

However, if I had to move out of Cali, I would consider Canada over any other state in the US... but their housing prices on the west coast are just as bad as ours.

Anyways... I hope this hold is not something major. It's just strange that it took so long to roll these out and once they were hitting the dealers, they stopped selling them.

Ehm... "Shielding us from the world"? Buddy, we have all races and nationalities live happily in Canada together, not separated in ghettoes. We don't need shielding, we live on the island. We don't go places and force countries to change, we invite their citizens to come to our country and taste the democracy. When was the last time you heard bombs going off in Canada, mass shootings or planes flying into buildings? And if your economy is so great, why do you have companies building cars in our country? Give them enough incentives to stay in yours and then sell it to us. Get educated and don't hate on others or expect others to hate on you.

Geewiz. Remind me of how many of their own domestic car manufactures Canada has. I forget.

Hopefully the shipment hold is lifted soon, so we can all drive Pacifica Hybrids and get along like good neighbours/neighbors do. :)
Yeah, these US vs Canada, left vs right, up vs down, east vs west and so on arguments are just getting old and tiresome. There are plenty of other forums to vent if you wish but please don't add more frustration to an already frustrating vehicle purchasing experience. And on top of that, someone dinged my passenger side door today...aargh!

The official word today from Chrysler is, there's no hold, or known issues. They just built to many cars and they're now having problems getting them delivered.

I told the cares rep I was talking to, that I thought that was a total load, and that a company the size of Chrysler should be embarrassed if that is true.

I also explained that we're paying them on a sub line around $1100 to transport our vehicles safely, and in a timely matter. So there shouldn't be a transportation delay since we the customers are paying that bill.

But once again, she said, there's no know problem with the vehicle, and no hold...
