We are close to buying a Limited... but wondering about timing. The current incentives expire May 1st.

Should we expect the deals to get BETTER if we wait until after May 1st (because dealers want to sell off their 2017's before the 2018's arrive), or should we expect deals to get WORSE (because we are nearing summertime when families are ready to buy minivans for their summer family road trips)?

Also, I've seen mentioned on this site that Memorial Day deals should be good, but when I google 2016 Chrysler Memorial deals, it seems there was only about $500 off, which is not as good as the current deals.

But then, maybe I should wait until "month end" in May to get month end deals.

Oy. My brain in swirling.

I'm not in a rush, but ready anytime for the right deal. We are in WA State but willing to fly and buy for a fantastic deal that would make it "worth it."

Looking for a granite 7 passenger Limited with:
theater and sound package,
tow package,
advanced safety package,
tire and wheel group

Thanks guys!

I don't know what the late or end of season deals will be but you can expect the selection to be limited. You may not find what you want. What is more important to you; the deal or the vehicle? If the vehicle is more important, I would get one on order if still possible. If the deal is more important, I suggest following dealer inventory in your surrounding area and be ready to jump on it when you see something that matches, or comes close, to what you want.

Memorial Day is always at month's end (last Monday in May), so I wouldn't imagine there being any difference in incentives.

deals [...] BETTER [...] or WORSE
It really depends on what incentives you qualify for. In my area, if you have a low FICO score, and are leasing a FCA vehicle you qualify for at least $6,500 in incentives. Next month, that persons incentives are likely to be lower; while someone with a high credit score who is not leasing an FCA vehicle may get a better deal.

I think May is a big month for car sales and you're not going to see the May incentives in April so you won't know how good it is going to be yet. I think the Memorial Day savings will run the whole month of May. I bought in February and got Presidents Day savings which ran the whole month of February. And yes, last day of the month is usually best for squeezing the best deal out of those car salespeople. At that point they know they are so close to making a certain sales volume that they will deal with you. If they won't, you need to go to a different dealer.
