I just started using my split ducts a.c. units for the season and thinking maybe they are causing such a draw that it is extending my battery time? Any thoughts? Thanks
It's definitely not your split units. Your home should have way more than enough service to supply a couple of split units and your other loads. If you split units were pulling more current than their breakers are rated for, the breakers would pop. That said, you could have myriad issues with the circuit you're plugged into, many of which could be quite serious, so I'd make sure to follow up on it with an electrician if you find that the charger works fine on other outlets.
Found this post on a google search since it seemed like my PacHy stopped charging sometime between when hubby got home 90 min ago and now. The lights on the cord were red, checked the outlet with the device shown above and it has an open ground (eek), but replugged it in and its working fine now. Electrician comes next week to put in the 220V outlet.
Although not a good thing, I don't think an open ground would cause your symptoms. If the health check the charger performs doesn't react immediately to an open ground situation, it's not going react to it 90 minutes later.
Congrats on the 220v charger; that's the way to go.
