I tried reading all of the threads on fuel economy, but may have missed a post on this subject. So I'm starting my own. I am going to try making a Poll to find out the general accuracy of the dashboard indicator: how closely does it represent actual/calculated fuel economy? Does the answer vary depending on size of wheels? The goal is to find out how trustworthy the indicated fuel economy is. I do not care how much tire pressure you carry as long as you have verified that it is at least that shown on your door sticker. I have to assume that the door sticker pressure number is used for fuel economy tests and calibration of the indicator.

I am going to assume, perhaps wrongly, that variance due to tire size will be consistent.

I tried to make the poll a part of this thread, but apparently it did not happen.
