I'm curious as to what everyone else has done as far as initial protection for their Pacificas. I have a Platinum Hybrid on order, and I'm trying to decide what I'd like to do to seal up the paint and protect the leather interior as best as possible (within reason, as this will be a daily driver, not a show car).
I've been a fan of the Klasse twins for a long time, so my thought was to wash thoroughly, clay bar to remove any rail dust, then a machine application of KAIO, followed by a hand coat or two of KSG. It's the standard treatment that my vehicles have gotten once or twice a year, and I have been complemented many times on how well the paint has held up on my vehicles that were over 10 years old.
As far as interior goes, I have to research quality leather conditioners and cleaners and see what works with light colored leather. Chemical Guys makes some nice products, so my thought is to start there. I need to use scotch guard or something like it on the carpets as well. Not really sure on the interior though since I haven't had leather interior in a long time.
Dealership is offering the Simoniz Glasscoat system and warranty for $500, but from what I've read, it isn't that great of a system for the money, and it's a huge profit center for the dealership. Plus collecting on a legitimate claim can be next to impossible, defeating a large reason to buy the protection in the first place.
What did you do for initial protection for your Pacifica (or what do you plan to do if yours is still on order)?
