I'm hearing a strange rattling, or buzzing sound when driving at freeway speeds. It sounds like it's coming from inside the heat vent to the left of the steering wheel. The worst part is that it's intermittent, it sometimes goes away when the road is particularly smooth. I've added a video (taken at night) with the phone mic held near the steering wheel. Anybody hear something similar?

I had a buzzing sound only when moving down the road that sounded like it was coming from the front of the door (to the left of the steering wheel). In my case it turned out to be the Fender Silencer (interesting name) which was vibrating due to wind. You can easily see and touch it with the front door open. It moves when pressed and I was able to stuff a very small rag along an edge and my particular noise stopped. I think I may have posted this picture elsewhere on the forum so apologies if this is a redundant post.

I'm having the same issues now! Was this mystery solved? 2017 Touring, 54K miles, new tires, just bought used. Please help me get it taken care of before the real snow comes. Thank you!

If you go to the upper right corner of the screen, click your avatar picture Account Details, Account Settings, Signature, then add details of your Pacifica model, options, etc., it will help someone respond to your problem easier.

Who said the hood blistering is normal? It's not normal. It's a well known factory defect. Hound Chrysler to fix it. Even with your mileage, they should fix it under warranty. There is a very specific prep and repaint process that is covered under a TSB (technical service bulletin). FYI, it is not rust. The hood is aluminum, and that doesn't rust.
Someone else is going to have to jump in about the noise problem. I'm not familiar with it.

The sales guy at the dealership said it was normal. The service guy, though, said it was covered under manufacturer warranty and called it "corrosion." :/ It will most definitely get fixed. As for the noise, I hope someone has gotten this looked at and can update these threads. I've seen two separate videos now that highlight the exact issue I'm having. If nothing else, I feel comforted to know that it's not just me!

I'd definitely let the dealer (or their designated body shop) do the hood. It is a complicated process. The sales guy lied, and that IS normal! (part of the job description
)You might edit that signature line to only have details on the car. Some of your signature line is better suited as part of a post. Any changes you make will be reflected in all your posts to date.

Thanks, Waldo! Signature updated! Not 100% sure about what all the details are on my vehicle but listed what looked relevant from the paperwork! LOL!

I tried to make an appointment at the dealership to get the hood paint fixed. They took pics and gathered VIN and other info and will submit it to Chrysler. They wait for Chrysler to approve the work and then they have me schedule the service. Did that Monday, still waiting on response. My rattle is so sporadic and doesn't only happen at high speeds but even going 20-30mph. I am waiting to hear if anyone has had that serviced and/or will have mine looked at when I schedule the hood paint job.
Had the service done last saturday, 40k service, as suspected, they could not find anything in regards the rattling noise.
Forgot to ask about the paint in the hood... ?♂
I'm also pinging Chrysler at Twitter.

2017 TL 65k mi. I have the same rattle at highway speed, approx from left dash vent, sounds like a twig scratching around inside the dash. (Also had the hood oxidation repaired.)
I believe the rattle is a semi-rigid black molded foam "panel" (for sound dampening, ironically?) vibrating inside the top of the fender. Open the driver's door, and look above the top hinge.

Push the foam panel around and it re-creates the rattling/scratching noise heard at speed (as wind/air pressure builds). I wedged some foam or rubber between the panel and steel body - and cut most of the noise. Still need to refine a bit; I might try gaining better access by removing the inner fender liner. (I'm also considering removing the panel entirely...)

Any word on this? I’m having the same problem.
I had the same issue that developed on a long road trip. The dealership had the van for a few days and determined the wheel well silencer panel was installed incorrectly.. No more flutter or rattle at highway speed!
