Ok, maybe this is a silly question, but since hybrid owners like to squeeze every last drop maybe it's not so silly...

I live at the top of a big hill, so to go anywhere I have to go downhill, and I can charge 5-10% of the battery on the way down. That means if I charge to 100% at home, whenever I head out I'm just wasting 5-10% of the electricity since regen can't recapture it on the way down, plus wearing the brakes needlessly.

Is there any way to automatically stop charging at some %, or can I tell it to stop at some manually-set time?

I know you can set schedules for start, but not aware of a way to stop it at a certain percentage charge like on most EVs (80% was an option in our LEAF). However, can you still regen when you have a full charge from the wall? I know they leave some headroom for longevity of the battery.

Maybe you could schedule your start charging time so that it will not be fully charged when it's your time to leave the house.

This is why I'm asking -- if the battery is full, it won't regen, so I'd like to leave some room so that I don't waste the downhills going away from my house.

This is really hard to do/impractical because I don't park at exactly the same time every day and with the same amount of remaining charge.
