Is there documentation that tells what the gongs, beeps, and chimes might mean?

2021 Pacifica hybrid: We were driving down a busy road and three times in the course of a mile of so there were three very loud gong sounds. Bong!-Bong!-Bong! (and not ding-ding-ding, or beep-beep-beep). It is the first time we have heard that one. Nothing was obvious as to what caused them. My wife pulled out the owner's manual and tried to find the cause, but gave up. Something in the car was trying to tell us something. Given that all the different beeps, chimes, and now "gongs" were put there for some purpose it would be useful to have a summary sheet or sub-manual to find out just what they mean.

Been discussed many times here. TomTom navigation warnings, safety camera locations, or over-speed warnings depending on the over-speed alert threshold you have set.

That this has been discussed many times on this forum indicates that some better documentation is needed.

Have you read through the very long owners manual? Try the sections on the Nav features.

Yes, I've read the sections in the Radio Instruction Manual on the Navigation. It doesn't say anything about the types of sounds. Furthermore, that is just one of the many sounds it might make. A summary, or consolidation of all the dings, beeps, chimes, gongs, one might hear and the likely causes is needed.

Or ask your dealer.

Just sayin'...

If you can't find the answer in the manual, or in online forums, the dealer may help...

If you are approaching an intersection, three gongs will sound to indicate that that intersection has a Red Light Camera system installed. I believe there is an option to disable that function.

Speaking of navigation, I have never been able to get tom tom to work on my 21 pinnacle hybrid. Android nav is fine But tom tom loadss a bit then shuts itself off every time after saying "canceled" in a rather rude voice.

MY21 has had two Uconnect 5 updates that have addressed several issues. Make sure you are on version 17.99, if not get it updated. Both of mine pushed OTA last year.

Brand new owner here. I live in an area that has a red light camera on virtually every corner. I’ve been looking for a way to turn off the gongs, but keep the voice warning of approaching a red light camera, but have been unsuccessful so far. It seems you can do the opposite, keep the gongs and disable the voice. Am I missing something here? Thanks all.

You got it correct, that in controlled from within the TomTom nav settings and I think the only other options is "only notifications" text.
