Purchased a 2017 pacifica 2 days ago with 20 miles on it and went out to get in the van this morning and key wouldn't unlock or open doors... so I tried to use the other key and nothing... so I took the emergency key out and opened door and alarm went off ... sat in it and on dash it says push brake + start .... but nothing happens ... get pissed off call dealer and get the run around ... so I go up there and raise **** and they just say it needs tp be towed and needs a software update... (which sounds like total bull **** to me )... so now I have a van that's seeing the tow truck after 2 days ... lucky it happened at home and not while I was out at the store or something... but now I have a bad taste in my mouth about this vehicle because I am. Chevy Guy and never had any problems

This happened to my wife on Friday. The remote wouldn't unlock the doors. She stood by the car for a few minutes and the remote finally unlocked it. After getting in the car and trying to start it, she got a message saying key not recognized. Then after a few minutes it finally recognized the key and started. It's going to the dealer tomorrow to get the rollers replaced for the sliding doors. I will tell them about it and see what they say.

I had the PAC in yesterday to fix the grinding noise coming from the passenger sliding door. Of course the remote worked fine and has ever since last Friday. They said that it could be a low battery. Anyways it back to the shop again today because the door problem didn't get fixed. They replaced the rollers but it still makes the same grinding noise. We will see what happens today.
Did you get this resolved? I am having the same problem.

Did you try pressing the start button with the head of keyfob as suggested?

The easy solution would be for the batteries to be checked and replaced under warranty. Fob battery (CR2032) replacement would also be an easy solution. Hope they can figure out the solution quickly. Keep us posted.

That wasn't the issue. We tried swapping batteries with a person that was helpful and tried helping us.

At the dealership, they disconnected the entire battery and a secondary battery. Left it off for a bit and it started back up. They are going to run some additional diagnosistic tests tomorrow.

Can someone from Chrysler Specialist call me? I am having the same problem my car which is a 2017 so its practically new, did not want to start this morning. It sounds like it wanted to but did not. It's Sunday so every dealership is closed. What can I do?

Can you verify the model year of your vehicle? If it is a 2017, it is hardly new. If you say it tries to start, that sounds like the main battery being weak or has failed. This would also be a factor for any model year.
If you still have any warranty left, you should call the Chrysler Roadside Assistance. They can get your vehicle boosted to get you going.

A 2017 is 4 to 5 years old at this point. It’s not uncommon for a 12v battery of that vintage to need replacing. I have a 2017 Limited and had to replace mine last year.

I do not think it is the battery all the lights turn on. It sounds like it wants to start but does not start at all.

That sounds exactly like the battery. It takes a lot more amperage to turn the engine over than to light up the lights.

A weak battery can still turn lights on, but does not have the power to run the starter. You could try disconnecting the battery terminals and cleaning them off before re attaching securely.

Try to get the van jumpstarted. There is a positive post under the red plastic on the battery and a negative post near the windshield to attach jumper cables to. They don't want you to attach the jumper cables to the actual Pacifica 12V battery.

Oh ok which battery are you talking about the key fob or the regular battery? Either way, my husband is going to take the battery out and check it

The regular 12v battery in the car. As @SciTchr said, try jump starting it.
