So really shaking down the numbers before deciding. In Canada, these appear to be the notable differences between the L+ and Limited:

Touring-L Plus vs Limited:

Stow ’n Vac
Power-folding third-row seat
Soft-touch instrument panel with premium bezel
Driver’s preference memory
HID headlamp + LED fog + LED DRL

Assuming you gap the trims with packages like tri-pano roof, the difference after tax is about $4000 CDN. I know that value prop varies from person-to-person, but from an overall perspective, is the above worth the ~$4000 CDN upcharge? I have a feeling it's not worth it but my subjective gut tells me I'd love the Vac, Power Stow-party trick, and soft touch surfaces (how often do you touch the dash?).

Really, this post is me thinking out loud and trying to talk myself down from the Limited :wink2:

It really depends how much you want or would use some or all of those features. I can tell you that the lack of seat memory alone would be a deal-breaker for me.

8bit

I went through the same process (and I'm guessing many others have too)

What killed the Limited for us was interior colour options. We did not want black carpet, and on the Limited both choices at the time only offered black carpet - I understand the new 3rd choice of Black / Diesel also only offers black carpet. We ultimately went with the Touring L+ and the Cognac/Alloy/Toffee interior, which has a lighter colour carpet. Very happy with the colour choice so far.

After having the car for only a week, and loving everything about it, I can say we have noticed that we miss the Driver's preference memory. My wife is 5'0", and so its a lot of back and forth, up and down for the seat each time we switch drivers. Our other mini-van (yes we are now a 2 mini-van family - please don't laugh :smile2:) the seats are manual, which is much faster than the Pacifica's electric seats.

For us, even if we had gone with the Limited, the vaccuum was not an option as we wanted a spare tire.

The others you list were just "nice to haves" not "needs" for us. BTW, what is "Soft-touch instrument panel with premium bezel"?

Soft-touch. The dashboard, etc are soft touch. If you push down on it with a finger, they are soft and have a compliant feel. You can contrast it to most entry trim cars where the surfaces are just hard plastic.

By the way, I will definitely get the spare and toss it in the stow-n-go if we do Limited.

$4000 CDN is a chunk of change. It can buy winter tires, a spare vacuum, lots of gas... the extended warranty. I'm trying to rationalize it :)

When I had a rental this summer (provided by the insurance co. as my Ford Edge was written off) they gave me a 2016 Pathfinder (don't know what level) but I took it back after a week because I disliked the console/dash so much, and felt like it 'floated' all over the road... Of course YMMV

Right Kyle, the 2017 Pathfinder is much, much better. It's basically a 2016 Infiniti JX35/QX60 :)
