Hello everyone. I want to purchase or lease a minivan in the next several months and I really like the new Pacifica, but I can't get the correct answer for the following question even from a dealer.
So as I understood, you can't get 8 seats on Limited version due to panoramic sunroof, you need to choose between those two. This is because of a seat belts mounts in a roof for a middle seat in a second raw. I was at the dealership and there was a Touring-L on display with 8 seats, but I didn't mention any seat belts above this middle seat. Who can tell me why is it so?

And another question particular to the owners of the Limited model with panoramic sunroof: Are there hooks (mounts) in the floor for that middle seat? Maybe hidden under an upholstery, so I would be able to add it later.

I will appreciate any information. Thank you!

My understanding is, like yours, that the Limited gets the sunroof so there's no 8 seat option (because of the seatbelt issue). There are no visible hooks in the 2nd row floor on my Limited.

There may be places hidden under the carpet where seat hooks could be bolted in place but holes would also need to be added to the carpet as well. I'm not interested in a center seat but a super solid cargo tie down location in the middle would be very nice as long as it isn't a trip hazard.

Thank you for the info. I have compared the photo (from a different thread) of your car with opened back door and all seats folded with the 8-seater model. Those hooks are actually protrude from the floor on an 8-seater. On your photo there is nothing.

From Chrysler contact:
As for adding the 8th seat, you are out of luck. It is not addable after the fact and even if the floor were made to accept it, the seatbelt wouldn’t work. There is no lap belt on the seat. The belt functions just like the rear seat center belt. The belt comes down from the ceiling, clips into one side of the seat and then across your lap into the other.

Can't find a Limited with 8 seats

I'm in the NY tri-state area. I just searched the inventory of 8 dealerships and none of them have a Limited w 8 seats.

1) are there any out there w/ this combo?
2) is there an easy way of searching for a Limited w/ 8 seats instead of searching in each individual dealers website?

That combination is out there, but isn't very common. Go to Chrysler.com and set up a search using "dealers & vehicles." You pick your model and features and can search inventory in the whole US. The search I did came up with about 10 within 400 miles of me. That's on the west coast.

Yes it is possible.
CSO Radio in Lakewood, NJ has a legal 11.5" jump seat with a lap-belt that attaches to the body of the vehicle using the existing OEM hardware hidden beneath the floor.

You either get the pano roof on a limited and no mid seat or you can get the middle seat but no pano roof. The anchor in the roof is a safety feature. The mounts in the floor for the seat are made if it has the option from the factory, it is not a later add on. So, nothing is hidden in the floor under the carpet so you can just buy a seat and add it later. Also, the 2 outer mid row seats have armrests on the inner side if you have no mid seat. If one is ordered with the 8 pass mid seat, no armrests are on the middle outer bucket seats. You ask if you can add, anything is possible, but it would mean having someone drill into the floor for mounting points or welding mounts to the floor, cutting carpet all that. I wanted the 8 passenger but wanted the pano roof as well. I flipped a coin and got the pano roof.
