I did some searching around and didn't see any recent posts about this, so apologies if there's already a thread. My wife and I bought a 2017 Pacifica Touring L (gas engine) a few months ago, Jan 2019. It only had 5k miles. We've been really enjoying it, but the one thing that stands out to me is how loud and groaning the acceleration has been. Especially when the RPM is around 2k. It's not like it's totally unbearable or anything, but it sounds more like a truck or something than a decent trim level van.

We've still under warranty and I'll probably have the dealer look at it once I can get back over to them, but curious if anyone else has experienced anything like this and what they did about it.

Have the same issue. Dealer service thinks it's normal, but when I ask him to ride in it with me then take a new one for a ride to compare, he won't do it.

I had the same problems with my 2017 Pacifica. They had to change the whole transmition

I just posted the exact same problem on our 2018 Pacifica Touring Limited. Ours starts exactly at 2000 rpm and the dealership states they can’t hear anything. Mine to also sounds like a truck.

I also have this issue in any gear at 1900 to 2500 RPM, a loud straining upgraded exhaust system sound through those RPMs. Also causes some vibration in floor board and pedal. Super annoying on highway where RPM is always in this range, so everytime you hit the gas to keep the speed at 70MPH it groans and vibrates. This started at about 13500 miles on my 2019 Limited gas pacifica. It also started exactly after a routine oil change! Literally noticed the stark change pulling out of the parking lot. Wife said something about it as well a week later even when I didn't say anything to her so as to on purpose not influence her so I could know I wasn't crazy.

Troncalli Chrysler (Cumming GA) has been nice about it and rode with me in van to hear it. For now they want to reschedule when a transmission guy is here. They agree it is odd.

For the people that responded above, any tips or bulletins I can tell the dealer about this?

I am so surprised, but they actually figured this out today. I know this thread or the other thread about this, mentioned the air intake duct, which I checked, and mine was there and seated properly (the top part that connects to the front grill area looked fine).

I thought for sure this was related to the transmission, because if you are in park and rev the engine from 2K to 3K it was silky smooth/no noise. Anyway, the dealership figured out that the air intake box was not seated properly (not the front part at grill, but some other part of the square box). One side has screws and one side has tabs or something. So they seated it properly and viola no groaning truck sound from 2k to 3k RPM! Somehow at the last oil change they did this. I don't know why they were messing around in that area, but owell.

I am literally in shock they figured it out. I am used to the dealer run-around. So I gotta hand it to Troncalli CDJR in Cumming GA for actually trying and not dismissing this(Thanks Christian). It was getting really annoying and now it is quiet again.
