I guess they wouldn’t agree but you could ask if a stop leak product may be okay/advisable and if so which one.
Yeah I would never use that stuff unless I had a junker with 200k on it that needed to get by a few more months. I have seen it work but it's at a risk. Definitely nothing I would do with a newer vehicle.

I actually ran some K Seal in our Porsche,(but I haven't flushed it out, yet). Ours was primarily losing coolant past the reservoir cap gasket not mating the reservoir well with age. Eventually I replaced the whole reservoir and cap after trying different size o-rings. (So some K Seal is still flowing through it)...

The main problem I can see with the sealant is it getting into the oil depositing the silicate in the engine oil cooling passages. I've seen that happen on a few vehicles. I think it would be less of a risk with the issue I'm having as it's been so far going out the tailpipe and not into the oil (I do have an oil sample pending to see if anything is getting in, but when I drained the oil there was no coolant observable).

In other news I'm dropping it off today at the dealer so it can sit overnight. I'm hoping they'll notice the symptoms immediately after starting it. I'm going to be so irritated (that's an understatement) if they say there's nothing wrong.

You're losing a lot of coolant out of the tailpipe which is a serious issue and with the knowledge you've learned on here and these Pacificas having issues at times with this specific problem I doubt you'll have any problems.. Them doing the warranty work they actually make money so I doubt theyl throw a big fit.. it's the warranty companies that say yes or no to the fix and most warranty companies pay for immediate damage like something that just happened versus something that's been progressively getting worse so make sure you tell the service advisor to write down that it happened overnight that your coolant dropped immediately and you noticed a lot of issues right away that day. Good luck keep us informed

So surprise, surprise it was what we all thought it was. Head gasket failure at cylinder 5. Cylinder is fine, but it needs new plugs, and a new catalytic converter from burning coolant. I'm having them flush the coolant as well. Soonest they can have parts is the 24th. That's pending if the inspector from my extended warranty company approves the claim. The dealership is supposed to be emailing me pictures of the tear down when the inspector is there.

I don't know whether to say congratulations or that sucks🤮... When coolant is coming out of the tailpipe there's nothing else that it could be other than a head gasket breach flowing through the exhaust manifold.. Most extended warranties that cover engine and drivetrain will definitely cover the head gasket so you should be fine.....

I know what you mean. I'm just glad a dealer actually diagnosed and actually found the issue. My extended warranty is Endurance. They are sending an inspector today or tomorrow to approve or deny the claim. I'm not exactly sure why they would deny it, but I'm definitely nervous until I know it's covered. I don't have the extra cash laying around for something like this right now.

FWIW, Jalopnik rates them highly. Hoping it goes smoothly with the claim.

I've heard they've been rated highly. One of the main reasons I went with them. So far the dealer states they've been easy to work with. We will see. I'm looking forward to the pictures. I'm hoping they don't forget.

Is there a waiting period? I'm wondering how they eliminate people from submitting a claim when they already have an issue and waited to buy coverage until after the fact.

There's a 30 day 1000 mile waiting period before the warranty will kick in. I've had the warranty since I purchased the van and this is the first time I'm using it. I just hope they don't say that it's been an ongoing issue because it's been an issue months. I just haven't had a dealer that's been willing or able to fix it.

Well this isn't good news. I just got my oil analysis back that I had been putting off sending away for various reasons. The report indicates coolant in the oil as well. Dealer thinks the report is crap basically and said they can't see any coolant in the oil or any abnormal wear. We shall see. Now I'm worried about premature engine wear. It'll be getting an oil change again ASAP as soon as this issue is fixed.

I'd ask them wtf is wrong with them then.. BlackStone is an incredibly well-respected oil analysis laboratory and they are full of themselves. Like seriously so many companies and people use that lab to do their analysis and I've never heard of them having any bad marks against them. They are "just the facts" kind of people.

The dealer?! What do Chrysler dealers know about anything that involves analysis? Complete monkey wrenching buffoons.

Trust the report. Good thing you have it. Until you get the first report back after the "fix" you won't know how badly that long term health of your engine looks but it's trending negatively. That's why replacement is the way to go. At least a new engine provides a brand new baseline.

My FIL has 20,000 miles on his 2019. Think I'll get an oil sample and see if he's experiencing any coolant in the engine oil now and if early diagnostics can help pin this issue down.

Yeah I know that Blackstone labs is incredibly well respected and knows what they are doing. The fact that the dealer didn't seem to care and dismissed the lab results I'm not going to argue with. I don't think too much damage was done, and if so I have the extended warranty until at least 170K miles. As of right now I'm just waiting for the warranty to approve the claim. It's currently processing. The dealer called me today to give me an update. Said they hope a decision will be made by Monday. Also stated the inspector was awesome to deal with and knew what he was talking about and agreed that it was indeed the head gasket causing issues. So I see no reason why they would deny the claim. We shall see. I definitely will continue to be sending my oil out for analysis.

I'd just be concerned with the cylinder being damaged from hydro lock. Like if coolant leaked down into the cylinder at all or if the cylinder is worn in some way at this point.

Did you get the go-ahead yet from your extended warrant company if the gasket was covered or still ironing out the oil analysis?

It never hydrolocked on me. According to the dealership there's no scarring or any ill effects that they can see in the cylinder.

I'm hoping to hear back from the warranty company and the dealer today. It was still in the review process over the weekend. I'm just not arguing about the oil analysis and will get the oil changed ASAP and keep sending samples to see how things go.

Well Endurance decided to cover the claim. At first they wanted the last three oil change receipts, but then magically they no longer needed them after the dealer repeatedly told them it had nothing to do with oil change intervals and that the oil was good (obviously we know it isn't, but it got the claim approved). Ironically Endurance agreed to an oil change to be covered but not a coolant flush and fill. The dealer also stated that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced along with the o2 sensors because of the burning of coolant. I opted not to do that right now because of the price. I'm responsible still for $1050 of the repairs. Endurance is covering $2100. My part is misc. things that aren't covered like seals for sensors, spark plugs, random little things that add up. I think the price is still a little high, but I'm thinking it's the dealer milking everything they can at this point. I don't care I just want my van back and back right. Now it's a matter of them getting it in for the repair. Apparently the next booking isn't until February the 6th. Ugh...

Does Endurance not cover the catalytic converter and O2 sensors?
