I'm assuming you mean Uconnect Access. The "Advantage" plan, as they now call it, is $15/mo. Way too much for what you get, in my opinion. You can check out the details HERE.

You get all the mobile app things (remote start, lock, unlock via the app, find location). The mobile access point in the car.

But the biggest thing is voice texting. I believe the voice response is phoned home to parse the speakers reponse. Without the uconnect acces it can't phone home.

No, the WiFi access point is not included. That costs an additional $10 a DAY! Yes, you read that right. And it's only 3G!

I wouldn't call that a big thing, really. It doesn't work at all with an iPhone, but you can just use Siri instead. And can't you do the same thing on Andoid with Okay Google or something?

I would pay $50/year for the remote start functionality, which is what Ford charges. But more than double that is not worth it in my opinion.

What is the difference of remote starting from the app vs remote starting from the key fob aide from maybe proximity to car?

With the app, you can start the car from anywhere in the world as long as there's cell service wherever the car is.
