As a new Chrysler owner (2000-3000 miles) I've had some very good help from Chrysler regarding recent problems I've had with the van. Starting off, the uConnect Theater never worked from the start. It had the typical crashing issue that others write about. I made an appointment at Fred Beans Chrysler in Doylestown to get the uConnect looked at. This is the dealership where we purchased the vehicle. The dealership was a few weeks out scheduling service appointments. During that time, the transmission started shifting roughly. I though at first that it was just the recent cold weather and that the transmission was still breaking in. The shifting then got worse and worse and the transmission started making a noise. I came on this forum to see if anyone else was having the same problem and after replying to a post, I was contacted by a member on here named "ChryslerCares". ChryslerCares is the account name for a representative from Chrysler who worked with me through the repair process while the van was in the shop. The name of the Chrysler Rep was Andrea.
The morning I brought the van into the shop, it would not shift into drive initially and the check engine light came on. Eventually, the car shifted into drive and I was able to drive the van to the shop. Fred Beans Chrysler provided another Pacifica as loaner car free of charge. Fred Beans had the van for a week or two IIRC. Andrea from ChryslerCares, along with the service manager from the dealer, called me any time progress was made on the vehicle and was very helpful. Chrysler also put one of there master techs, named Scotty, on the job to work with the dealership. It turns out that the transmission leaked just about all its fluid out and that was the reason why the van didn't shift correctly. Several parts were needed to make the repairs and one was on backorder for several weeks. Andrea from ChryslerCares expedited the part to the dealership and the dealer was able to make the repair in a much quicker fashion. The DVD uConnect system was replaced at the same time.
Andrea was extremely helpful and personable throughout the whole process, giving me timely updates on the repairs, even more so than the dealership, as well as her direct phone number in case I needed it. I can't say how pleased I am regarding how Chrysler handled this situation. I've always wondered why dealer reps don't have a presence on forums like this and I'm glad that Chrysler is now the exception.
When the van was returned, the transmission was 100%. Unfortunately, the uConnect system has started to reset itself again. I have another appointment scheduled for next Wednesday at Fred Beans Chrysler once again. We'll see how that goes and I'll post the results here.
