When I am on the highway (fastest) and I want to use the streets instead (shortest) I cannot figure out how to do this without canceling the route and starting it again which is where i get the route options. My other vehicles allowed me to do this on the fly and I miss it.
I appreciate any help from people that can answer the question asked. 0

Yes you can do it on the fly. I started a route (fastest), then hit on "options" in the lower right corner of screen. Select "setting", then "guidance". Under "guidance" select options, at that point the 3 choices (fastest, shortest, and economical) appear, check the one you want, then depress the "back arrow" at the top, and it recalculates new setting. Hope this helps.

Now, a follow-up question.....
can I make a shortcut for this?
My previous sat-nav units allowed this change with 2 clicks. This takes 4. A b it cumbersome while trying to drive the car.

Your'e welcome Danny. As for the short cut, I'm not sure, however have to agree that it's not very user friendly, and could and would be a major distraction while doing 70 MPH. I believe my portable Garmin (free LTM), that I had perched on the dash of my 2014 Town & Country was better and had some neat features that this current GPS does not have, although I do like the large screen.
