We brought home our brand new 2021 Pacifica hybrid last night. Being a Dodge Chrysler enthusiast (this is our 7th car) I am aware of the tail Light track lamp short issues. Upon arriving home I immediately noticed a short in the light. Such a disappointing way to start off with a new car. Now I have to drive an hour back to the dealership to get it fixed. A little disappointed to say the least.

(many people see one person talking about an isolated problem somewhere, and immediately declare it to be "a known issue".)

I speak from experience that this is a known issue on other models such as the Durango that have a similar tail light design (track light). Just trying to inform people. Not sure how the car left the factory/dealer with such an issue. I noticed it in the evening when the lights were on.

The same way it left the dealer with the little green stickers on the wheel, and a bunch of other stuff they didn't do because reading the PDI sheet is too hard.

Thanks for posting the pic. I had no clue what this was about until the pic was uploaded. Now I know what to watch for. Mine is so far so good.

Some clarity on this post is needed . You could take delivery and drive it down the street and the led could fail , hence why manufacturers give you warranty . It’s not the manufacturers problem that there is x miles between you and a dealership , and yes they will put in a work order for the part and reschedule a service visit . Unless it’s a safety issue it’s just considered service , part will be removed and info will be sent back to headquarters for warranty and reason why part failed .

The wait continues…The dealer replaced the light, but it didn’t come w/ the Chrysler emblem. They did offer to mail it to me.

It sucks when you get a brand new vehicle and things aren't even perfect driving home from the dealership. On the other hand, the suggestions to bring your vehicle to the closest dealer for service is the correct advice. No disadvantage to that in the least. Sorry for your issue. Hope you get your emblem soon!

Wait until you start having all the other hybrid issues. This one is nothing compared to what you have in store. 98% of this forum is nothing but “non gas pacifica” issues. I’m actually disappointed that almost every post under the “new” tab on the menu bar has something to do with vans that aren’t just straight gas. This dead van here, a battery charging issue there. Pretty sure the thread about paint on the hood bubbling is the newest one that doesn’t directly relate to some type of EV
