Hi all. I'm a 70-year-old retired Biochemist who is disabled and uses a power wheelchair to get around. I recently bought a VMI-modified Pacifica Touring L Plus to replace my 4-year-old Town & Country and love it! The van was extensively modified by VMI. The floor was lowered and a sliding ramp extends from the floor when the rear passenger door is opened. In addition, hand controls for the gas and brake were added, and the driver's seat was removed and a locking system was added so that I can drive the van from my wheelchair.

The Pacifica drives much nicer than my old Town & Country, and it turns noticeably easier due to a "lighter" power steering. Also, being a high-tech-toy junkie, I love the Uconnect system! I'm very happy with the Pacifica.

That's awesome! Congrats on the Pacifica, you'll love it. Do you have any plans to post pictures? It would be pretty great to see the modifications. My aunt has M.S. and is in a wheelchair. This sounds like something up her alley.

Here are pics of the hand controls, wheelchair ramp, and EZ Lock system that locks my chair into the driver's location. For some reason they were turned upside down when I attached them, sorry.

Congrats on your VMI conversion.

75 year old year. Just took delivery for a 2017 limited which I plan to have a Burno articulated seat installed in the front passenger seat position for my wife.
Did you buy the van first and have VMI do the conversion or buy a Pacifica they already had converted?
