Does anyone know if Chrysler has liscensed the Toyota technology in this van. I am just wondering how new it is and if Chrysler did it on there own? lot, especially the transmission is very new and Chrysler has a track record of not getting trannies right.

I watched the video where the chief engineer talked about the Hybrid Pacifica. It is ALL Chrysler, designed by Chrysler and only Chrysler. FCA as a whole is looking to add it to their FIAT lineup. Remember, in Europe, Diesel is king. In the US, Diesel is a black sheep. Thus, Hybrid engines took over.

If I find the video again, I will post it here too.

This isn't Chrysler's first foray into hybrid vehicle. They were partners in development with DaimlerChrysler/BMW/General Motors Hybrid Development Center and were involved in projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in is industry-first - SAE International

You are right, but this is the first mass produced Chrysler only hybrid system.

I have not watched all of this as I have to get going, but this may answer your question.
