Just picked up my Touring L Plus. I was the never driving a minivan guy till I drove the Pacifica. Test drove one and was sold. Just a couple weeks old and loving it. Really bummed about no iPhone video/USB playback. I mean really.... big shortcoming on chrysler here.... looking forward to all the info offered here.

I thought the USB plug up front next to the DVD player was for iPhone playback? I believe you can also play through the HDMI inputs in back if you have the Lightning to HDMI converter. I have not tried these myself, but I thought I had read that somewhere.

Congrats on your new van and welcome to the forum!

You can play video via USB from a flash drive. If you want to play video from an iPhone, you'll have to use HDMI.

I've seen several people report that they want to be able to play video from an iPhone via USB, but does the iPhone even support that? I know the iPhone supports AirPlay for streaming or mirroring over WiFi or HDMI, but I've never heard of anyone streaming video from an iPhone over USB to anything. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that I've never heard of anyone doing it.

Ok thanks for all the info. Being that most my kids movies are now bought via iTunes or on Netflix. My immediate reaction was just hook up to USB in front DVD port and I'd have full automation to kids screens in the back.

You can still do that, but you'll have to plug the iPhone into one of the rear HDMI ports instead. If you don't already have one, you'll need a Lightning to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable. A 6 foot cable should be plenty long enough for you to be able to control the iPhone from the front seat.
