WiFi Hotspot (Internet) stopped woking
Went to go sign up with AT&T for the mobile hotspot for our summer vacation and the web site tells me it's no longer available for my 2018 Pacifica. Huh? I've had it maybe a half dozen times over the past 5 years. I called the number and they said they have a technical issue that has not been...

Folks? If could be an issue due to purchase location? I'm just guessing though. Vans can be built for particular provinces or states, correct? Could Rogers or another provider be the dominate cellular coverage but the van is transferred to few states away where AT&T has stronger coverage? Telus is predominate in my area but have Rogers and Bell as competitors. Your data plan strength is critical. I could be barking up the wrong tree.
I believe that if you only need a Wi-Fi connection to the interwebs you can turn your hotspot feature on your phone, if it is a newish model. Connecting your data plan to the van's Uconnect radio is an extra step that allows for van software for entertainment, direct texting to the the Uconnect plus other stuff cellular related. Some of the information gathered for you can include information delivered from the satellite radio.
I'd break down the issue into stages. Lets say we remove the data provider from the equation. Can you connect by USB cord or by Bluetooth, select the input for the radio and stream some tunes? It possibly may require you do remove all devices and to pair the device and give it the priority connection. If it pairs, have someone call you. Then text you. Do both come through? Next get an image texted to you and see what happens. Verify the data plan option is turned on and not just your phones Wi-Fi option. If the phone fails to connect to Uconnect then there may be other issues. Remove all the devices to pair and try again with a different phone.
Is this First-post bait? I don't care. I'm curious about the build location question.
