Not very impressed with UConnect System

So, we just purchased a 2023 Pacifica Hybrid last Friday (yes, only 1 week old) and I have to say that I'm not very impressed with the Uconnect system. Here are the issues we've had so far:
1) On the day we drove it off the lot, I put in a a DVD for my daughter, after lots of Pacifica screen menus, we finally got it to play and was able to hear it through the car speakers (note: even when you are viewing the Rear Screen and select Listen on the menu (upper right corner), the system would not play -- had to go switch to Sources screen under MEDIA and select Listen In RSE 2!?!??). The sound lasted for only a few minutes before the the listen-in option would turn off and my daughter couldn't hear the video. As well, throughout the 45 minute drive, the rear screen would also randomly turn off (happened 5 times, and managed to get it back on by cycling the power from the front screen for the rear screen1 that she was watching).

2) Another issue is that the DVD or BlueRay video only shows up on the front screen for approximately 2 seconds and then the screen says that "This service is not currently available on the front seat displays", even though the car is parked, plugged in, and charging!???! Note that I have checked with driveuconnect.ca and apparently the uconnect software is up to date.

3) When trying to add icons to the favourite app screen by selecting the star button, many times it would not work and instead it would start the app that we were trying to add - so frustrating.

4) When using the Assist button to contact Uconnect for assistance, it would transfer to SiriusXM assistance?!?

6) In the Vehicle menu, had an issue where the Driving History and Schedules icon were no working. Seemed to fix itself overnight and was working the next day.

As you can see from the pic above, we haven't driven it a whole bunch (169 km), but so far the experience has been less than impressive. I have an appointment with the dealer and I'll update on any solutions.

For what it is worth I had a fair amount of frustration with UConnect initially with our 2022 and in particular the issues related to interaction with the mobile App and the Sirius subscription which is what drives many of the useful features of the UConnect system (especially with the Hybrid). Most of these issues were resolved following the steps in this thread Scheduling a climate event from UConnect app

I have heard nothing but frustration with the UConnect Theater package but can't speak to that side of things as I intentionally left it off my build for these reasons.
No kids so the screens have no value to us, but I find it all a bit useless when compared to a well sorted smartphone and a good phone mount.
We just got a 2023 Limited and I have to agree. The uConnect system is incredibly frustrating and the manual a confusing mess. I used to design man-machine interfaces and I have to wonder what the designer of this system was on. However, I just have to get over it, and somehow learn to use it. I’ll check out the thread in #2 above. has anyone found any other good references or videos?

Hello Morseman,

I'm sorry to hear it's been a frustrating experience with the Uconnect system. We're happy to provide help or clarification regarding the Uconnect features any time. Feel welcome to give us a shout or PM anytime.

Hi, I experienced the same problem with a new Limited Pacifica. The only way I could get the DVD option to function correctly, and have the rear onscreen controls to work, was to go through the Fire TV setup on both rear screens. Once I did that, I could select the DVD as the source, press Listen In and get it to work ok. I did have additional issues when I signed up for mobile hotspot so I took it to the dealer. Service was no help (they didnt know how to use the system) so I had a sales guy sit in the car with me until we got things to work. Still have some issue (like DVD lag when i put the front screen to anything other the the Rear Screen selection.
