Made the deal...i own a minivan...... man card has been checked

Anyways....opinions on my deal

msrp 43145
Dealer discount 2900$

rebates $4000

final price 36245

its a touring l plus, advanced saftey , 8 seat, 18s,

oh and i purchased 8/100000 for 1975$ but if i find cheaper i can return it

put 10000 down, financed 30000, they only gave me 2.25 percent for 48....ill pay it off in like 6 months if all goes right.

heres the thing, they would not honor sams club unless it was off the msrp without the other dealer discounts.....wtf...they say because its not a rebate....

overall the experience was garbage....even though the price i had pre negociated was pretty close to where we ended up they just make u sit there and do piss all....for hours.

for instance with conquest, i had to get my father to be a co signer to utilize it.....had to go thru his credit etc ...just a pain in ass

they wouldnt give me 0 percent even tho my fico and experion etc are 800. If they gave it to me means id lose some rebates...

i stayed up till 4 am watching nadal and fed.....i was pretty fed up by the end.....

Perhaps they applied a different TDM instead? You can only use one TDM, so that's the only reason I can think of not to accept the Sam's rebate. What was the breakdown of the incentives that made up the $4000?

Yeah they didn't give me a paper with the breakdown of the rebates. I dunno why. I think it was 1500 Chrysler cash. 500 something else. 1000 conquest...and Two 500 bonus coupons. When we were having issues using conquest...because they needed copy of the vw registration I said for get that. Let's just do Sam's. They wouldn't.

Well, it's likely too late now, but even if the $500 "something else" was a TDM, they should have used the Sam's $1000 TDM instead.

That seems odd about the rebate. Not sure how you didn't end up with more rebates since it sounds like you financed with Chrysler Capital. Unless you took the promotional rate, you should have ended up with $1,000 in rebates from Chrysler Capital along with the $1,500 bonus cash. I got $4,500 in rebates and I didn't have the Conquest (not available in my area). $1,500 Bonus Cash, Two Chrysler Capital $500 rebates (so $1,000), two Pacifica $500 coupons the dealer had (another $1,000) and the Sam's Club rebate for $1,000. I missed out on a $500 auto show rebate that my zip didn't qualify for but the location of the dealer would have.

Oh well. I wouldn't stew on it. Sounds like your dealer was a jerk. If I encounter much push back in the early negotiations, I say cya later and find someone else.

Sounds like they weren't familiar with it, so they just denied it without even checking.

a 'do dealers even listen' story:

found my pac online, sent email inquiry requesting their best driveout cash price for my VIN, reiterating i was paying cash and not financing. dealer replies asking for my current employer, how long with current employer, was i military, did i currently own chrysler, and a few other similar questions all of which sound like basic financing info gathering. i answered the questions and again reiterated i'm paying cash and not financing and i want his best driveout cash price. dealer responds with a price i like.

ok, i make arrangements to see and test drive the pac. after test drive i tell my salesman, the same person i'd been corresponding with on price, let's do the deal. go in, sit down, he pulls his paperwork and asks me how much i wanted to put down. i'm thinking you gotta be kidding. i said 100%. he laughed and said no really how much down payment did i want to do. i reminded him that i was clear in our correspondences i was not financing and was paying cash in full. then he proceeds to tell me the price quote was based on financing with the chrysler cash back, various rebates, etc. and since i wasn't going to finance the price was going to be more. i told him either they honor the driveout cas price quote they gave me or i was leaving.

so he goes to talk to the sales mgr., comes back ask me if i've ever owned a dodge or chrysler (yes i had) and was i ever in the military (no but my grandad and uncles served). he takes this info to his sales mgr. and returns in a few minutes to inform me they aren't going to make much on the deal but would honor the price quote.

an hour later i'm leaving with my new pac and two $25 gas cards. all in all a fairly good buying experience.
