I tried the Ease Diagnostics software (demo version) with the van last night, using the 2017 Pacifica settings on my 2018.

Try EASE PC Scan Tool Software Before You Buy It

It detected a number of modules including:

Powertrain Control
Body Control
Instrument Panel
Battery Pack Control
On Board Charger
Adaptive Cruise Control
Parktronics
and a few others.

I connected to some of the modules to see which PIDs are supported. There's a lot of data available. The data is scrambled "xyz" in the demo, but by monitoring the serial port you can see the requests being sent (e.g. 22011D) and the responses from the van.

Making some progress with the EASE software. By monitoring the serial port I could see it was sending the following PIDs to the PCM:

Engine Oil Pressure: 2218D0
Engine Oil Temperature: 212D
Low Temp Radiator Coolant Temp: 2212C9
Oil Pressure: 22022A

Need to translate the hex responses into decimal values and calibrate them.

Hi Breezy,

Thanks for doing this. I currently have a Pacifica PHEV, and I was wondering if there is anymore update on the .dbc file ?

Thanks.
Here's the latest file I have. It's not a DBC file, though. This is a file that can be imported to apps like Torque or OBD Fusion.

Just slowly working through these when I have time.

sorry to say, most new PIDs didn't work for me. 3 out 4 wheel speed sensors show 0, the last one- no data. Battery module temperatures 1-12 always show 14-15C, 13-24 show 0C. Cooling inlet and outlet, charge and discharge also show static values.

I changed nothing, but in the afternoon the wheel sensors, inlet, outlet and the 1-12 module temperatures worked!
As of this morning I have some PIDs working intermittently as well. I think maybe trying to read too many at once while switching between modules is overloading the adapter and/or app.

Added Hybrid Vehicle Battery Current and Power
Removed Battery Sensors 13-24, since these always read zero
Thanks, Breezy, I just noticed it. Tried the new PIDs today. They work during the discharge, but show unreal numbers on regen. Is the power PID tied to the actual battery voltage or based on a fixed value?

I think this would be a better use of money. The wiTech 2.0 software can be downloaded for free and supports J2534 devices. The looks like all 2018 models and the RU platform is on the supported list for previous model years.

I'm going to try this and report.
Last time I checked- about 6 months ago- clones didn't work on the late model years. Must be something new.

Dont mean to hijack your thread.. thought you could get the data directly, but i know that takes the fun out of mapping it out.

I found the same info about the clones.. however I noticed that its not manditory to use the micropod at all.

I have a J2534 D-CAN obd cable thats for BMW that cost $20 that should work. I've downloaded the wiTech 2.0 software and registered my installation serial number, not the micropod serial number.

It should take about two days for it to get tied to my user account. I'll let you know how it works out. The idea is full OEM PIDs with datalogging and it should have full functionality. For a fee of $50 for 3 days - minus flashs, thats a seperate subscription to TechAuthority.

However, should you have access to TechAuthority and downloaded the flash files individually to your computer. you would then be able to flash without an active subscription ?

So my BMW INPA cable does not work.

My Aftermarket device (laptop installation) was however approved by wiTech 2.0 so I've been shopping for an appropriate pass thru device. There are lots out there and many are 1/2 the price of a micropod II but I did find one thats not too expensive and verified by FCA for wiTech2.0.

so I've ordered the cable by Controllers Technologies Corporation called Pulsar for $480usd - its simular to the Mongoose Pro but the fact its verified and they offer OEM aftermarket support from wiTech sold me.

More later.
