I am currently leasing a Sienna XLE and can get a great deal leasing another one. But I like the looks of the Pacifica. My one concern is the reliability with Chryslers and I've seen some posts on here about transmission issues. Are there any other minivan owners who have switched to the Pacifica and are happy with it?

The transmission issues aren't an issue on the hybrid. Perhaps check it out? I'm going to give it a try, but will likely be leasing as well. If there ends up being troubles, I'll give it up after 3 years. If all works well, I'll buy it out.

Hi Bhamer, welcome to the forum! I've moved your thread over to the "Chrysler Pacifica Versus The Competition" area.

We had a Sienna for about 5 years, but it was the previous generation. There's no question that my wife and I are MUCH happier with the Pacifica!

I traded my '13 Odyssey for the Pacifica back in August and have no regrets. The only issue I've experienced so far was the rear liftgate chime quit working shortly after purchase and that was replaced during my 1st oil change. The transmission on these shifts differently than what you may have experienced in other vehicles due to the dog clutches, but once you get used to it you hardly notice the rev-matching during those gear changes anymore.

Pacifica and Sienna are not direct competitors.
Sienna is for those who like to sleep on the road and Pacifica for those who like to Drive. Big difference. :D.

I've had two of the recent generation Odyssey's. Actually liked them a lot. I really like the styling and amenities of the Pacifica. We tend to get rid of our cars every 2-3 years, but my wife racks up almost 25k miles a year on our family haulers. I have concerns about reliability, but only time will tell. The Pacificas are a much different vehicle than the T&C's...

Totally off topic, but quick question. How do you add the Tidbit of information that appears just below the post that a poster makes? Color, interior color, options, trim level, wheel size, etc, etc.???

Back on the home page, there is a link "add a custom signature". Actually, go to Forums>Chrysler Pacifica News and you should see a Welcome to the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minvians Forums. You might have to expand that box (the little +) and then you should see the custom signature part. Hope this helps!

I'm in the same boat. I drive about 40-50K miles in year and waiting for hybrid to replace my Sienna. I tried 2017 Odyssey and was not impressed. Trying to decide if I have to wait for Pacifica hybrid or jump on 6K off from MSRP on Toyota Sienna. Just hope Chrysler start to ship cars at least in Q2.

If you decide not to wait for the hybrid, why not check out the gas-only Pacifica? Or have you already?

I rented a 2015 or 2016 Senna for a week and I own a Pacifica now so I have a few comments. The Senna is nice and had finises on par to the Pacifica

1. The Senna I had was bench seats in the middle row which were a pain to move and then get in an out of the back seat. You also could not access the back if a car seat was in both middle seats.

2. There was no where to mount the back strap in a rear facing car seat. If you not have kids under 2 this is a non issue, but if you this was a huge issue for me which dropped the Senna from our consideration. Yes you can use a strap and attach the seat to the front seat rails, but then you lose all the front seat leg room. I am 6'4", again a deal breaker.

Otherwise they are basically the same. Both have good power, decent leg room and space, and good sized trunks.

If I need to buy regular van I would go with Sienna XLE. But Hybrid is very tempting since my work commute is about 20-30 miles ....
i could not wait any more, bought Sienna XLE (8 passengers). managed to get 7400 from msrp

hope it would be more variety hybrid affordable cars in 3-5 years when i'll need to replace this one.
